What Happened to Mitty in Made in Abyss?
Mitty is an ordinary girl from the start of the series. She is not only an outgoing and carefree young lady, but she is also very ambitious. While aspirations are good for a child, they made Mitty's life a living hell.
Mitty's suffering began when the Sovereign of Dawn, Bondrewd, appeared on the compounds of Mitty and the other children. They followed Bondrewd to the depths of the abyss after he duped everyone, including Nanachi.
While Mitty aspires to be a White Whistle, the other children are forced to participate in an experiment to test the curse of the abyss. Mitty soon found herself in an elevator that would take her to the sixth layer of the abyss.
It is unlike any other elevator because the trajectory of the descent directly contradicts the curse of the abyss. When the elevator descended into the sixth layer of the abyss, Mitty began to feel the strain of ascent as Bondrewd pulled the elevator back to the fifth layer.
As a result, Mitty was unable to resist the Abyss's curse. Her human form had vanished, having morphed into a blob of flesh. Mitty evolved into a narehate with no human characteristics.
As the series progresses, Nanachi and Mitty flee the Ido Front and decide to live on their own. After all, Mitty has been tortured in every way by Bondrewd, especially given that the narehate is nearly indestructible.
Because Nanachi retains her human characteristics, the fluffy narehate was the only one who cared for Mitty. Nanachi eventually decided to end Mitty's suffering by finding someone who could instantly kill her friend.
Nanachi soon tracked down Reg. The fluffy narehate implores Mitty's life in order to save and free her soul. Nanachi asked Reg to end Mitty's life because he could incinerate and blast anyone into nothingness.
Why is Mitty Still Alive in Made in Abyss?
Mitty is still alive in Made in Abyss Season 2. But how?
In episode five of the second season, it was revealed that Bondrewd managed to retrieve Mitty from the place where the hollow was incinerated.
According to Belaf, the masked man, also known as the Sovereign of Dawn, paid a visit to the Iruburu village with Mitty. Belaf liked Mitty because he could sense the narehate's true immortality.
Belaf was so desperate to get Mitty that he offered Bondrewd 724 of his limbs. Despite losing half his body length and some of his sensory organs, Belaf was pleased to acquire Mitty.
As a result, Belaf decided to replicate Mitty in the Iruburu village. At the time, Belaf emphasizes that Mitty's soul was copied because it was such a perfect reproduction.
When Nanachi learned of Mitty's predicament, the fluffy narehate immediately offered a trade. Belaf accepted Nanachi's offer and relieved Mitty of its misery.
Will Mitty Die in Made in Abyss?
Yes, Mitty will vanish completely in Made in Abyss.
The Iruburu village has a barrier that prevents its residents from leaving its boundaries. This barrier began to dissolve, leaving Nanachi torn. Belaf claims that if Nanachi escorts Mitty beyond the barrier, she will cease to exist.
It turns out that everything created in the village can only exist within it. The rule will apply to Mitty because she has been cloned in the village. Mitty's life will fade completely if she is taken outside of the barrier.
Regardless of her uncertainty, Nanachi bravely walks over to the barrier while holding Mitty. As Nanachi approaches the barrier, they reminisce about their time in the abyss. Nanachi also assured Mitty that they would meet again soon. Mitty passed away after that.
