Thor: Love and Thunder End-Credits Scene Explained: Is Jane in the After Life?

One out of two post-credits scenes in Thor: Love and Thunder belongs to Jane Foster and the other to Zeus being alive and the tease on Hercules' arrival in the MCU.

Jane Foster became the eye-opener, or rather, the heart-opener for Thor in the end of Thor: Love and Thunder as she succumbs to cancer just after they defeated Gorr the God Butcher. With her final breath, Jane reminds Thor to keep his heart open and to always choose love, then she vanished into the air as golden dust.

With the death of Gorr and the resurrection of his daughter through Eternity, Gorr entrusted his daughter to the God of Thunder who took care of her, naming her Love, hence the title of the movie Thor: Love and Thunder.

In the myths, when a god dies, the god disperses and turns into golden dust. It was seen when Odin died in Thor: Ragnarok. This only means that when Jane died, she was considered as a goddess of Asgard.

In the end-credits scene, just after all the credits rolled, Jane is back on the screens surrounded with bright light before arriving into what looks like Asgard, except for dead Asgardians. There, Heimdall is waiting for her on the rainbow bridge.

Yes, Jane is in the Asgardian afterlife and it is Heimdall at the gates as the welcoming party. The afterlife looks similar to Asgard. Jane died as a goddess, a wielder of the power of Thor through the Mjolnir, a hero who saved the children of Asgard from captivity, and she rightfully deserves a spot in the heavenly afterlife.
