Of all the original Avengers, only half of them remain in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, one is Jeremy Renner’s Hawkeye whose future remains in a blur after he passed the bow and arrow to Kate Bishop in his very own titular series, another is Mark Ruffalo’s Hulk who has his cousin suiting up in She-Hulk, and the other is Chris Hemsworth’s Thor who will be back in Thor: Love and Thunder and whether it will be his last MCU movie is a question that fans are needing an answer.

Great news for everyone who loves Thor as Chris Hemsworth himself has stated in 2020 that he would not be hanging up his weapons and retiring in Thor: Love and Thunder. When Hemsworth talked to Elle Man, a Polish Magazine, his reaction to the question of whether he would retire the suit is hilarious and he has in his heart playing Thor for a longer time.

Hemsworth even joked about the age of Thor, “Are you crazy?! I'm not going into retirement. Thor is far too young for that. He's only 1500 years old! This is definitely not the film where I say goodbye to this brand. At least I hope so.”

With the new teaser for Thor: Love and Thunder, Thor is finally taking a new path, not as a hero, but as someone who wants to discover who he really is and imagine living for a thousand and five hundred years, he still doesn’t know who he really is. By the time Endgame ended, Thor is left with a huge void in his heart after losing the people he loved and though he helped save the universe, he now has to save himself.

In the teaser, it was seen that he is on his way to self-discovery and he started to improve himself once more by working out from being Fat Thor, he is coming back with his fit physique, having a new style, moving on from everything he has lost, going forward with the promise of tomorrow, and trying new things to find his inner peace.

Thor: Love and Thunder also marks the debut of Mighty Thor, and while Jane Foster already appeared in the MCU, this time, she becomes a heroine, wielding the Mjolnir which is now reforged, possibly pieced together after Hela broke it in Thor: Ragnarok. It comes as a surprise to Thor, probably not expecting his ex-girlfriend like that, but surely, it would be a great story to tell on how she becomes the Mighty Thor.

Thor: Love and Thunder premieres in theaters on July 8, 2022.
