The first season of The Last of Us has ended but people haven't stopped talking about the live-action series adaptation. After all, the show has been renewed for a second season and fans are understandably looking forward to the future. Naturally, that means the arrival of Abby Anderson and people are hyped up.

In The Last of Us Episode 9, Joel and Ellie finally found the Fireflies but their arrival didn't seem welcome at first as Joel gets knocked unconscious. When he awakens, Marlene tells him that Ellie will be operated on, removing the cordyceps cells from her brain in an effort to create a cure. Joel realizes the operation will kill the girl and decides to rescue her, killing any Firefly that tries to stop him.

Not surprisingly, Episode 9 featured the hospital scene from the original Last of Us video game where Joel kills the doctors who are preparing to perform surgery on Ellie. The death of the doctor would eventually lead to his daughter searching for revenge against the man who killed her father.

Yes, that daughter is Abby Anderson, an important character in The Last of Us Part II. Since the second season will adapt the 2020 video game, fans were immediately hyped up for Abby making her live-action debut in The Last of Us Season 2.

For now, HBO has not yet announced who will be playing Abby in The Last of Us Season 2. However, there are speculations that Shannon Berry has been cast in the role. On the other hand, some fans believe that House of the Dragon star Emma D'Arcy would be the perfect actor to portray the complicated character.

All nine episodes of the first season of The Last of Us are now streaming on HBO Max. The Last of Us Season 2 is expected to begin production next month but has not yet been given an official release date. Stay tuned for more updates on this story.
