The latest episode of The Flash titled “It's My Party and I'll Die If I Want To” finally addresses the Arrowverse’s new multiverse following the events of Crisis on Infinite Earths.

In this episode, Ramsey Rosso/Bloodwork wishes to take over the multiverse by having it infected with his dark matter. Ramsey recruits Wally West for his plan, but the latter refuses to believe it’s possible considering that the multiverse is dead.

Oliver Queen shares this piece of information with Barry, but this surprises Barry as he too believes that the multiverse is dead. So, how did The Flash address the Arrowverse’s new multiverse post-Crisis?

The Arrowverse crossover event Crisis on Infinite Earths brought the entire DC universe together. The crossover not only included Arrowverse characters but also characters from other DC movies and series.

Included in the crossover event was Tom Welling's Clark Kent from Smallville, Tom Ellis as Lucifer Morningstar from Lucifer, DCEU Flash Ezra Miller, Brandon Routh's Superman from Superman Returns, and many more.

In Crisis on Infinite Earths, the heroes dealt with the Anti-Monitor, a villain who wished to reshape reality and destroy the multiverse. The seven Paragons defeated the Anti-Monitor with the help of Oliver Queen, not as the Green Arrow, but as the Spectre.

Using the power of the Spectre, Oliver restored the multiverse. In the new multiverse, some universes were restored exactly as they were before Crisis, while others were completely new. Earth-Prime (Arrowverse’s main Earth) was created, which merged different Earths together. As a result, Kara Danvers/Supergirl is now on the same Earth as Barry’s.

Crisis also featured the different Earths in the new multiverse: Stargirl in Earth-2, Titans in Earth-9, Doom Patrol in Earth-21, Swamp Thing in Earth-19, Ryan Reynolds' Green Lantern movie in Earth-12, and Brandon Routh’s Superman in Earth-96.

After the events of Crisis, the Arrowverse characters now believe that the multiverse is dead and Earth-Prime is the only one left. However, the multiverse still very much remains alive, where other DC films and shows exist (last week’s episode of DC’s Titans even shows Beast Boy exploring the multiverse). But this is unknown to residents of Earth-Prime.

In the recent episode, Wally kills Barry. Barry then sees Oliver, and the latter reveals that he created a new multiverse to replace the one that had fallen.

"When I took on the power of the Spectre, I thought that I was simply creating Earth-Prime. But I was also making something else - a new multiverse to replace the one that had fallen," Oliver said.

This surprises Barry, thinking that Red Death, the recent villain he fought, came from an alternate timeline. However, Oliver confirms that she came from Earth-4125.

Oliver shares that his job is to keep an eye on threats to the new worlds, like Ramsey Rosso. Ramsey wants to improve the Multiverse by ending death. He wants to bring every world together under one mind for a singular purpose – immortality. To do so, Ramsey must spread his infectious cells to every world, and with Wally by his side, it’s possible.

While Wally thought that he was projecting his consciousness into the Speed Force to reach alternate timelines, he was actually reaching other Earths. So if Ramsey’s control over Wally becomes permanent, he can gain control of the multiverse.

After the events of The Flash’s latest episode, the Arrowverse characters are now aware that the multiverse still exists after believing that Earth-Prime was the only one left. At the end of the episode, Barry asks Oliver how many Flashes are there. Oliver responds that there are more than enough, but nobody is more impressive as Barry.

With only four episodes remaining in The Flash Season 9, we have yet to see if the multiverse will be explored before the series concludes. However, the next two episodes of The Flash Season 9 are titled “A New World, Part One” and “A New World, Part Two”, thus, the series could possibly address more of the new multiverse.

The Flash season 9 will serve as a conclusion of the Arrowverse. While Superman & Lois was supposedly a part of the Arrowverse, showrunner Todd Helbing confirmed that the series was separate from Earth-Prime.

Helbing also added that the Superman and John Diggle in the series are doppelgangers of the versions on Earth-Prime. Additionally, Superman & Lois is part of the DCU “DC Elseworlds”.

This leaves The Flash as the last Arrowverse series, and so we’re gonna have to say goodbye to the Arrowverse in a few weeks. But even though The Flash will serve as the conclusion to the Arrowverse, at least we get to give a proper farewell.
