The Falcon and The Winter Soldier Season Finale has quite a lot of revelations giving answers to the questions throughout the season and it seems that with the series taking on the path of Sam being the new Captain America and with the series being given a new title, one quite similar to a film we all love, it also drew some references from the same movie.
In The Falcon and The Winter SoldierFinale, a scene takes us to Sharon Carter posing as security personnel of the GRC and since she is a fugitive in the United States, she has to hide her identity. She used a mask that copies the face of another, the nano mask, also known as the photostatic veil.
As revealed that Sharon is the Power Broker, of course, she'll have a lot of tricks up her sleeves like this one as being the Power Broker comes with the perks of having in touch powerful weapons like the one she used on the Flag-Smasher Lennox who succumbed to the mercury vapor.
And yes, if your memory serves you right, it is a direct reference to Black Widow's Scene in Captain America: The Winter Soldier where Natasha posed as a member of the council as Council Member Hawley to get into S.H.I.E.L.D. which is infiltrated by Hydra and to expose Alexander Pierce. It's that iconic and sassy moment of Natasha where she said to Pierce, "I'm sorry, did I step on your moment?"
The parallels of The Falcon and The Winter Soldier and Captain America: The Winter Soldier seems to set up the new title for the canon series, Captain America and The Winter Soldier. A clever way to reference the film and Black Widow who has an upcoming solo movie, it also reminds us that such film Captain America: The Winter Soldier was where all Sam, Bucky, and Sharon first met.
