Warning: if you haven't seen the finale episode of The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, this article contains major spoilers so read at your own risk!

The Falcon and the Winter Soldier just premiered its grand finale and it finally answered a lot of our burning questions, most notably the true identity of the Power Broker which has been a mystery since the first episode. To those who haven't been closely following the show, the Power Broker is an influential person responsible for the reproduction of the super-soldier serum which ended up with the Flag Smashers.

For weeks now, several theories have circulated all over the internet about the villain's real identity and even the series itself dropped major clues about the character during the previous episodes. Now, we can officially confirm that the persistent theories are in fact true as the Power Broker is none other than Sharon Carter who is out for revenge against the U.S. government.

During the episode's climactic sequence, Sharon reveals herself to be the Power Broker after she tries to stop Karli Morgenthau and her devious plans. Apparently, Karli and Sharon have known each other since the leader of the Flag Smashers first arrived in Madripoor and even helped her cause. Karli would ultimately betray Sharon because their views didn't exactly click.

During their intense confrontation, Batroc enters the scene and even he is shocked to learn that Sharon is in fact the Power Broker. He would then ask Sharon for the money that is owed to him and even tries to blackmail her but to no avail. This would then lead to a violent altercation where both Batroc and Karli get killed.

Interestingly, Sam and Bucky are still not aware that Sharon is actually the Power Broker and despite the fact that the new Captain America helped Carter clean her reputation, judging by the finale's closing moments, it looks like Sharon will be a major thorn in the side of him and Bucky and just like that, the MCU's Phase 4 introduced us once again to a new villain.
