The Falcon and The Winter Soldier has been promising ever since the series started. Every episode seems to be packed with a lot of action and humor, just the perfect blend of it to make it an amazing story centered on Sam Wilson and Bucky Barnes as they take on the world after the retirement of Captain America and after the blip.

The series has been throwing bombs of revelations about the day in the life of a hero beyond the cool fight scenes that they get to participate in, things that remind everyone that these heroes are human as well, they live and breathe the same air, experience the same troubles like how Sam and his family has been struggling financially, and like how Bucky is dealing with post-traumatic stress disorder after being HYDRA's hitman for 80 years.

Not only that, the series introduced characters which are new such as the Flag-Smashers who aim to live in a world without borders, the new Captain America of John Walker and his right-hand man Battlestar of Lemar Hoskins, Joaquin Torres who helps out Sam in his missions, Isaiah Bradley who was revealed to be another super soldier like Bucky.

The series also has a fair share of recurring characters like Sharon Carter who was first introduced in Captain America: Winter Soldier as the SHIELD agent who is always ready to help, Bartoc the Leaper who seized a ship before only to be stopped by Captain America and Black Widow, and of course, Baron Helmut Zemo, the man responsible for the break up of the Avengers in Civil War.

What happened in The Falcon and The Winter Soldier Episode 3?

Episode 3 of The Falcon and The Winter Soldier, Power Breaker, opens with an introduction on the Global Repatriation Council in what seems to be an advertisement of what the GRC does.

Bucky and Zemo strike a deal to break Zemo out of prison. Zemo was successful and Bucky was explaining to Sam the recourse he had to go with to track down where the Flag Smashers got their super serum soldier doses. Zemo was revealed to be super rich and Sam was even surprised that he was that rich all this time.

Zemo owns a handful of cars collected by his family and because he is a Baron, he has a plane that could take them to where it is possible that the super-soldier serum was taken from, Madripoor. Zemo really got a lot of contacts that when they arrived at Madripoor, they even have a sweet ride to a bar, to someone called Selby.

Zemo seems to have been in Madripoor before as he is familiar with the Power Broker and with the island itself. He shares to Sam and Bucky that the place is lorded by the Power Broker who is the judge, jury, and executioner of the place.

In their encounter with Selby, Zemo had to disguise Bucky as the Winter Soldier under his control and Sam had to be all fashionable as the Smiling Tiger. Zemo struck a deal with Selby to have the Winter Soldier, including the words to control him, in exchange for information as to the super-soldier serum. Selby agreed and she disclosed information about the Power Broker and the scientist who re-created the serum, Dr. Wilfred Nagel.

However, their disguises didn't last long as Sam received a call from his sister about the boat. Along with the exchange, Selby was killed by a shooter from the outside and the blame was put on Zemo, Sam, and Bucky which resulted in having a bounty on their heads. They found refuge with an old friend, Sharon Carter, who took them out of the Lowtown and brought them to her art fence in the Hightown.

Sharon revealed that she was on the run and since Madripoor has no extradition to any country, she took refuge in the place and had her own business there. Sam convinces Sharon for her help in finding Dr. Nagel and in exchange, she promised her that her name would be cleared in the US. She was hesitant at first but accepted the offer afterward.

They found Dr. Nagel in a ship container yard and he introduced himself to be a scientist of HYDRA before it disbanded and he joined the CIA afterward. Nagel revealed that he was able to recreate the serum from an American test subject and he managed to create a serum that doesn't bulk up its host but rather has it optimized and subtle. Nagel said he was blipped as well and when he came back, the serums were taken by Karli Morgenthau.

Meanwhile, Sharon was fighting off bounty hunters outside and when things turned sideways, Zemo shot dead Nagel, and his shipment container exploded after being hit by a bounty hunter. Zemo took a car from one of the containers to getaway. Sharon chose to stay behind as she meets up with someone who says they have a big problem.

In a hilarious exchange, Bucky seems to have called it quits on Sam as he wouldn't move his car seat like how Sam did back in Captain America: Civil War. Meanwhile, the Flag-Smashers raided a GRC outpost and bombed it off.

The episode ends with Zemo, Sam, and Bucky heading to what used to be Sokovia to visit the memorial. Zemo and Sam went to the memorial while Bucky decided to take a walk. He found Kimoyo beads which led him to Oyo, a member of the Dora Milaje of Wakanda who declared she is there for Zemo.

The Falcon and The Winter Soldier Episode 4 Theories

Although it seems like Zemo still has something cooking up on his sleeves, he had been a handful of help to Sam and Bucky with the plane rides and the cars he owns. Despite being a common enemy before, Zemo proved he is a man of code, that he doesn't leave any unfinished business. While this helpful Zemo might not last so long, it could also be Zemo's way of getting back to where he started in the MCU: vengeance on the Avengers.

Also, with the introduction of Madripoor, it could open doors for the entry of the X-Men into the MCU as Madripoor is known for being a place of refuge of mutants such as Magneto who even had a mansion there, Wolverine who co-owned The Princess Bar, and where he met Captain America and Black Widow for the first time and Mystique who, somehow, made Madripoor her mutant utopia by putting out drugs for people to have powers. In the episode, The Princess Bar had a blink-or-you-miss-it appearance.

Another interesting theory is on the character of Sharon Carter who has some speculations about her being the Power Broker. After what happened in the shipping container yard, Sharon meets up with another woman and she says they have a big problem and she'll share it on their way. She may know where Nagel is because he worked for her.

Sharon's life in Madripoor seems to be lavish and if she really was blipped as indicated in Avengers: Endgame where her face turned out to be one of the missing persons, it is highly unlikely that she has brought up such a rich lifestyle in Madripoor in its Hightown given that there are only a few months in between the blip and The Falcon and The Winter Soldier's setting.

While it is possible, she has been there even before the blip, her art fence was stunning enough to prove she has enough bills to pay, she "brokers" art. If she isn't the Power Broker, she must have some connection to whoever the Power Broker is considering her status in Madripoor.

The arrival of Dora Milaje's Oyo could also lead to Bucky taking on the helm of being the White Wolf which could be pivotal to the upcoming Black Panther 2. Theories have been ringing that this series would be the last time Bucky would don the name of the Winter Soldier and that he is about to embody the moniker of the White Wolf.

Lastly, the Flag Smashers may not be the big bad in this series but they could be the link to the real villain, Power Broker, and how he is connected to John Wyatt's Captain America and Battlestar's Lemar Hoskins. Their comic book origins are connected and if Marvel pursues that arc, it only means that the new Cap and his right-hand man are really not to be trusted at all.
