It may have started in the Fall 2022 season, but The Eminence in Shadow continues in the current season. And to further promote the show, The Eminence in Shadow Beta VA Inori Minase shared her favorite scene from the first cour in a new interview.
Minase was interviewed by Animate Times recently, and there, she shared what she loved about Beta and the series.
She also mentioned a specific scene that she considers her favorite out of all the episodes so far.
Inori Minase on Voicing Beta
Inori Minase is a well-known voice actress among anime fans, as she has voiced a wide range of popular characters. Perhaps her most iconic role is the fan-favorite Rem from Re:Zero.
Minase has also played other anime characters, including Itsuki Nakano in The Quintessential Quintuplets, Hestia in DanMachi, Chino in Is the Order a Rabbit?, and Shoko Makinohara in Rascal Does Not Dream of Bunny Girl Senpai.
Her latest role is Beta in The Eminence in Shadow, a character that Minase found to have a lot of charms.
Minase shared how happy she was that she was able to act in a wide range of ways as Beta.
This is because Beta often acts cool and intelligent, though she has a weirder side to her when she’s with Shadow.
Minase also found Beta’s “rivalries” with the likes of Epsilon and Alexia to be compelling, especially when they all pine for Shadow.

The Eminence in Shadow: Beta VA on Her Favorite Scene
One of these rivalries is the reason for Minase’s choice of her favorite scene from the first cour.
When asked about it, Minase singled out the hot spring scene from Episode 11 where Cid showed off his “Excalibur” to Alexia.
Minase’s choice shouldn’t be surprising to fans as it’s a funny and memorable gag scene that’s played straight by the voice actors, making it even more hilarious.
Beta’s VA recounted the recording of that scene, saying that it was difficult to record as they had no sound effects to go for. But it worked out in the end as the gag scene was a success.
