A Rascal Does Not Dream of Bunny Girl Senpai anime sequel has finally been announced, and it’s possibly the long-awaited Season 2. This comes nearly four years after the first anime season.
The announcement of the next Bunny Girl Senpai anime project was made via a special live broadcast during Aniplex Online Fest 2022. There, details about the upcoming anime were revealed.

Rascal Does Not Dream of Bunny Girl Senpai (Seishun Buta Yaro in Japanese) is an anime series by CloverWorks that’s based on the light novel series of the same name by Hajime Kamoshida.
The anime aired from October to December 2018, and it adapted the first five volumes of the novel series.
Upon its release, the show was praised by fans for its intriguing premise and a great cast of characters.
In Fall 2018, the show was considered by fans as one of the season’s highlights, with the series having the highest popularity ranking on MyAnimeList during the said season.
The TV anime was followed by an anime movie entitled Rascal Does Not Dream of a Dreaming Girl and it adapted the series’ sixth and seventh light novel volumes.
Its story follows Sakuta Azusagawa, a high school student who encounters teenage actress Mai Sakurajima in the library. While Mai is dressed in a bunny girl outfit, no one in the library sees her except for Sakuta.
Sakuta calls this phenomenon “Adolescence Syndrome" and he decides to help Mai be seen again.
After this encounter, Sakuta meets other girls suffering from the syndrome, and he decides to help them as well.

The new Bunny Girl Senpai anime project announcement did not reveal what format it will have. The only confirmed details are that it will feature returning cast and staff members from the TV anime and the movie.
It was also revealed during the announcement that the upcoming anime project will cover Volumes 8 and 9 which are entitled Rascal Does Not Dream of a Sister Venturing Out and Rascal Does Not Dream of a Knapsack Kid.
Given that it will cover only two volumes, there’s a chance that the upcoming anime will be a film like the previous Bunny Girl Senpai movie. Though some fans believe that this will be Season 2 of the anime series.
Right now, there’s no word yet on whether this Rascal Does Not Dream of Bunny Girl Senpai anime project is a second season or a new movie.
There’s also no info yet on a release date.
