Summer Time Rendering is now in its third episode and a mysterious character has just found her voice. Jujutsu Kaisen star Rie Kugimiya has been confirmed to play Shiori Kobayakawa, the third-grade elementary school girl with a dangerous secret.

The official Twitter account for the Summer Time Rendering anime confirmed that Rie Kugimiya is the voice actress behind Shiori Kobayakawa. The announcement was made along with the character design and details about her story.

According to the background, Shiori Kobayakawa is a third-grader living with her parents who run the supermarket KobaMart on the island town of Hitogashima. A few days after she revealed that she saw someone who looked exactly like her, Shiori drowned while swimming in the sea, and Ushio, who tried to save her, also lost her life. The girl is actually the 'shadow' Shiori, who killed the real Shiori and took her place.

The character is one of the more mysterious figures in the story and the major reason why the main character Shinpei Ajiro has returned to his hometown. With that in mind, Summer Time Rendering found the perfect voice actor for the role.

Rie Kugimiya's most recent work is as Momo Nishimiya in Jujutsu Kaisen. However, she is also known for being the voice of Alphonse Elric in Fullmetal Alchemist and Happy in Edens Zero. Kugimiya is called the "Queen of Tsundere" by her fans because of her roles as Nagi Sanzenin in Hayate the Combat Butler, Taiga Aisaka in Toradora!, Aguri Madoka/Cure Ace in DokiDoki! PreCure, and Aria Holmes Kanzaki in Aria the Scarlet Ammo.

Summer Time Rendering Episode 4 is titled Jamais Vu and is expected to reveal what happened after Shinpei chased what he believed to be Ushio's ghost to the beach. The fourth episode will be broadcast on Friday, May 6, 2022.
