Disney Plus' Summer Time Rendering Debuts Trailer for the First Exclusive Anime of the Service


Anime has been huge since it started and it continues to grow as the international community started to accept it, making it even bigger than before. Now, it takes a massive step as another huge media conglomerate picks it up, Disney Plus, and the service gladly dropped the debut of the first exclusive anime on the platform, Summer Time Rendering.

The trailer of Summer Time Rendering takes everyone into a sleepy seaside town where the new horror-thriller anime series will be set in following the story of Shinpei Ajiro, an orphaned boy raised by his sisters Mio and Ushio. Now a young adult, Shinpei comes back to town after the passing of Ushio when she drowned in an accident. With Shinpei uncovered more to his sister’s death, he realized that something sinister is going on.

Summer Time Rendering is based on the manga of the same name by Yasuki Tanaka which was published in Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump magazine from 2017 to 2021. The anime adaptation will be produced by OLM and the voice cast are as follows: Natsuki Hanae as Shinpei Ajiro, Anna Nagase as Ushio, and Saho Shirasu as Mio.

More than the arrival of a new anime show, what makes Summer Time Rendering even more special is because it will be the first-ever exclusive anime series to stream on Disney Plus. The psychological thriller will mark the start of Disney Plus having its own pool of anime series titles and surely, there is more to come.

Streaming services like Disney Plus and Netflix are starting to build up their anime roster little by little and following the merger of two of the biggest anime streaming giants, Crunchyroll and Funimation, it widens the choices of anime shows on where they would like to have their series air. As Disney Plus opens an avenue for anime, it is expected that the service will have more to come.

Summer Time Rendering is scheduled to arrive on April 14, 2022, exclusively streaming on Disney Plus.
