Shinpei dreams about seeing the moment Ushio was dying as if he was there to witness it himself. Suddenly, he's back on the boat, in front of the mysterious woman with glasses. He convinces himself that the feeling of deja vu is just a weird dream.

However, when Mio arrives at the port to greet him, the same thing happens. He also notices that it seems like the rope on her bike brakes has been cut. The rest of his day ends up the same. During Ushio's funeral, he tries to recall some of what happened before and what to expect next.

He notices the odd flash of light again at the funeral. In the evening, Mio and Alan see Shinpei looking a bit pale. Troubled with the current events, he decides to momentarily step out for some air.

He sees Mio's shadow staring outside their house. Tetsu shows up and wonders what Mio is doing, to which the shadow stabs Tetsu multiple times. Mio transforms Tetsu's corpse into a shadow form of him.

Shinpei was trying his best to hide from them, especially after witnessing all of that. But Mio and Tetsu's shadows find him and Mio stabs Shinpei to death. While dying, he hears Ushio telling him to save Mio.

Shinpei wakes up standing by the port. This time, he manages to save Mio from crashing into the ocean.

The mysterious woman is somewhere hiding within the trees, observing the island. She reports to an unknown source through her phone.

Shinpei plans accordingly to avoid Tetsu getting murdered by Mio's shadow. He calls him for a fake report, saying that a fight broke out in the shopping district. After telling Sou he'll call him the next day, Shinpei leaves his phone hidden in a plant pot to record Mio's shadow showing up.

He then goes to the bathroom, trying to calm himself down. He notices that one of his eyes is a different color, which he doesn't even realize.

The following day, Shinpei shows the video to Mio. She realizes that the shadow sickness isn't a myth, and it's possible that Ushio must have been killed by her shadow.
