It's almost time for the premiere of the first Fullmetal Alchemist live-action sequel and the franchise is hyping up the action ahead. The final trailer for Fullmetal Alchemist: Final Chapter - The Avenger Scar and Fullmetal Alchemist: Final Chapter - The Last Transmutation highlights the upcoming battles and even takes us back inside the Gate of Truth to reveal Alphonse Elric's real face!
The final trailer for Fullmetal Alchemist: Final Chapter - The Avenger Scar ("Hagane no Renkinjutsushi: Kanketsu-hen - Fukushūsha Scar")and Fullmetal Alchemist: Final Chapter - The Last Transmutation ("Hagane no Renkinjutsushi: Kanketsu-hen - Saigo no Rensei") features a lot of new footage of the major fights that will appear in the sequel.
In addition to that, there is a hopeful glimpse back in the Gate where Edward Elric is offering a hand to his brother's real body who is reaching out to him. Moreover, there is a brief shot of Alphonse's real body finally raising his head and showing his face.
We already got a glimpse at Alphonse's human body in the 2017 film when Edward transported himself to the Gate with the plan to restore his brother's soul to his body. If Edward is back in the Gate, there is a good chance he is once again trying to fulfill his promise to Alphonse.
In addition to the trailer, a new poster has been dropped and it features comments from creator Hiromu Arakawa. Check it out below.
The new Fullmetal Alchemist films will bring back Ryosuke Yamada as Edward Elric, Atomu Mizuishi as Alphonse Elric, Tsubasa Honda, as Winry Rockbell, Dean Fujioka as Roy Mustang, Misako Renbutsu as Riza Hawkeye, Kanata Hongou as Envy, Ryuta Sato as Maes Hughes, and Shinji Uchiyama as Gluttony. They will be joined by several new cast members including Mackenyu Arata as Scar.
Fullmetal Alchemist: Final Chapter - The Avenger Scar will premiere in Japan on May 20, 2022. Fullmetal Alchemist: Final Chapter - The Last Transmutation is scheduled for release on June 24, 2022.
