The return of Billy Hargrove in Stranger Things Season 4 Vol. 1 is quite expected but what shocked everyone is the reason how he came back. The actor playing the part, Dacre Montgomery, shared his experience shooting the scene and he even posted a behind-the-scenes photo of it.
In the fourth episode of Stranger Things Season 4 Vol. 1, Dear Billy, surprise cameo appearance of Dacre Montgomery as Billy Hargrove, deceased brother of Max, shocked everyone to their core when he was used as a bait for his sister to fall into the curse of Vecna.
On Instagram, Dacre Montgomery personally shared his experience shooting the said scene while the global pandemic is going on. Montgomery said, "Feeling extremely fortunate to have been able to shoot these scenes during the pandemic in my hometown, Perth (in Australia)."
Montgomery added, "What an absolute blessing to work with such an incredible local crew and @slevydirect directing on Zoom! @strangerthingstv."
The production of Stranger Things Season 4 Vol. 1 and 2 had to adjust to the circumstances given that the global pandemic hit the industry hard with the lockdown protocols and health and safety measures that everyone would have to observe while on the set.
Billy Hargrove had a troubled relationship with his sister, Max, and in Season 3, he faced his demise with the Mind Flayer, saving Max and her friends. In Stranger Things Season 4 Vol. 1 Episode 4, Dear Billy, Max had a heartfelt monologue of how different things could have been for them as siblings.
