While it was previously confirmed that the show’s second half will premiere in Fall 2022, the initial announcement did not come with a release date. Now, the Spy x Family Season 1 Part 2 release date has been announced alongside the release of a new key visual.
The reveal was made during a special Spy x Family program which aired on ABEMA on August 28 at 11 PM JST. During the event, fans were treated to a new key visual featuring the show’s main cast.
The visual was also shared via the official Spy x Family Twitter account.
The new visual is drawn by character designer Kazuaki Shimada. It features Anya Forger in the middle with winter clothing. Beside her are Loid Forger and Yor Forger, along with Franky and Yuri Briar.
At the bottom right are Anya’s classmates, Becky and Damian, along with teacher Henry Henderson.
What’s interesting about the new visual is the characters on the bottom left. While Loid’s Handler Sylvia Sherwood has already appeared in the first half, the two other characters have not yet made an appearance. These two are the dog Bond Forger and Fiona Frost.
Spy x Family Season 1 Part 2 Release Date, Info, Countdown
Spy x Family is an anime series by Wit Studio and Cloverworks that’s based on the manga of the same name by Tatsuya Endo. The manga started serialization in Shonen Jump+ on March 25, 2019.
The series follows the Westalian spy Twilight as he is tasked to spy on Donovan Desmond, a major political figure in the neighboring Ostania.
To fulfill his mission, Twilight adopts the alias of Loid Forger. He then adopts an orphan named Anya and marries city hall clerk Yor Briar.
His plan is to get close to Donovan in the elite school where his son studies.
Unbeknownst to Twilight, his wife is a professional assassin codenamed Thorn Princess, while his adopted daughter is a telepath.
Thus begins Twilight’s misadventures of handling his newfound family life while balancing it with a dangerous mission to prevent war between the two nations.
The anime series is split into two, with the first half airing in the Spring 2022 season.
Spy x Family Season 1 Part 2 is set to premiere on October 1 at 11 PM JST (10 AM ET/ 7 AM PT).
New episodes of the series will be released in English via Crunchyroll as it airs.
