With the stage play’s start date just two months away, the Spy x Family musical promoted the upcoming production by recreating a manga cover featuring Anya Forger in real life.
These real-life recreations of Spy x Family Volume 2’s cover were shared via the stage play’s official Twitter account.
The promo images were shared following a press conference featuring the musical’s cast.
Spy x Family Stage Play Announcement, Cast
Officially entitled Musical Spy x Family, this upcoming production is a stage play adaptation of the hit anime and manga series of the same name.
While it was revealed back in early 2022, we only got our first look at the cast in costume a few months after the initial announcement. And we only had our first look at Anya’s actresses last December.
Yes, the play has more than one actress for the loveable pink-haired Anya Forger.
In fact, there are four actresses, including Risa Masuda, Aoi Ikemura, Miharu Izawa, and Miharu Fukuchi.
The production did not reveal why there are four Anya actresses, though it’s standard practice for stage plays to have multiple actors for demanding roles.
The fact that Anya is a child likely necessitates having four actresses.
Loid, Yor, and Yuri also have multiple actors. Loid Forger is played by Win Morisaki and Hiroki Suzuki.
Meanwhile, Fūka Yuzuki and Mirei Sasaki play Yor Forger. Finally, Kurumu Okamiya and Tsubasa Takizawa were cast as Yuri Briar.

Anya Manga Cover in Real Life
The manga’s volume covers follow a certain format as each cover features one character who is sitting on a designer chair.
For Volume 2, creator Tatsuya Endo drew Anya Forger sitting on a Nelson Marshmallow Sofa.
Musical Spy x Family's recreation sees the four Anya stage actresses sitting on an actual Marshmallow Sofa.
Based on the official images, these seem to have been made in partnership with Herman Miller, the company that produces the sofa.
Given this cool stage play promotion, here’s hoping that we see even more manga volume recreations from the musical ahead of its premiere this March.
Musical Spy x Family will run from March 8 to 29, 2023, at the Imperial Theatre in Tokyo.
Following its Tokyo run, the production will move to other Japanese cities, including Nishinomiya and Fukuoka.
Much like other anime stage adaptations, this musical will likely run only in Japan.
