Spy x Family Announces First Stage Play

Spy x Family is currently on a roll thanks to the success of the anime spilling over to the manga. Now it looks like the franchise is set to get even bigger. The first stage play has been announced and is set to run next spring. In addition to that, auditions for the role of Anya Forger will be announced very soon!

The announcement was made by the official Spy x Family anime Twitter account, sharing the poster for the upcoming stage play. It was confirmed that the stage play will open in March 2023 at Tokyo's Imperial Theatre before going on a nationwide tour from April to May next year.

For now, details have not yet been revealed. However, there is a possibility that the stage play will follow the manga's first few chapters. This means it will feature how the Forgers ended up together in an effort to get into Eden Academy for Twilight's mission.

Soon after the announcement was dropped, it was also confirmed that casting for Anya Forger will begin soon. Stay tuned for more updates on this story.

We'll have to wait a little longer for more details on the stage play. In the meantime, the anime is currently on its fourth episode where the Forgers finally going to Eden Academy for the formal interview. Although they managed to pass, things went downhill when Murdoch Swan makes Anya cry and Loid Forger leaves the school with his family.

So will Anya Forger be accepted into Eden Academy? That's a question that could be answered in the next episode and we can't wait to find out next week.

Spy x Family Episode 5 is titled Will They Pass or Fail ("Gohi no Yukue") and is based on the manga's Chapter 6 (the fourth episode adapted the fourth and fifth chapter). The new episode will air on Saturday, May 7, 2022.
