Yor is a world-class assassin known as the Thorn Princess, but her background is still a mystery in the anime. It was mentioned that even before she was recruited to be an assassin, she already had superhuman strength, enough to break Yuri’s ribs whenever she hugged him tightly. So, why is Yor so strong in Spy x Family?

Was she trained before she became an assassin, or did she also gain her abilities through experimentation, like Anya and Bond? Was Yor simply born with superhuman strength? Read on to find out!

Why Is Yor So Strong?

It is generally expected that Yor had training as an assassin after she joined Garden, an organization led by the Shopkeeper. The said organization is a criminal underground that caused Loid to feel the tension just by hearing its name.

Aside from strength training, Yor also trained to be resistant to poison, which helped her a lot in her missions.

But if we were to go back to her background before she became an assassin, it hasn't really been explained yet how she got her superhuman strength.

Yor and Yuri grew up without their parents, so it is hard to tell if their parents had the same supernatural ability.

However, it is known that when she was a child, she already started working to feed herself and Yuri, and there had been no hints of experimentation, whatsoever.

We can only assume that Yor was indeed born with superhuman strength that was further improved after she got recruited and trained as an assassin.

It would be logical if that were the case, but it would be better if there was an official explanation for her strength as well.

The manga is still ongoing as of writing, so hopefully, fans will eventually get their official answer regarding Yor's exceptional strength.

What Are Yor’s Other Abilities?

Earlier, we discussed Yor’s immense strength and resistance to poison. But what other abilities does she have?

As a well-known assassin, Yor is also renowned for her incredible speed and reflexes. She can jump and land perfectly from tall heights despite wearing heels, and she can also knock out a raging cow and kill another assassin.

Even when she is distracted, she can dodge items from afar. Once, she even threw Becky to save her from a car accident only to catch her again on time.

Yor’s durability and stamina are unlike any other. She can withstand a gunshot and even go home with an injury.

She is also a trained combatant with amazing hand-to-hand fighting skills. Her kicks are also deadly and strong even if she's wearing stilettos.

Though she isn’t as intelligent as Loid, Yor is knowledgeable about anatomy, specifically, the pressure points.

She uses this knowledge whenever she has to finish a mission quickly and smoothly.

All of her amazing skills and abilities, coupled with her burning desire to protect her family, prove why Yor is a fearsome and formidable fighter.
