With the stage play beginning its run in just a few weeks, Spy x Family creator Tatsuya Endo shared a new artwork of Anya Forger wearing a fancy outfit that’s inspired by the upcoming Musical Spy x Family.
This new artwork imagines what Anya would wear if she were to attend the musical.
Aside from being an eye-catching dress, the outfit is also an homage to one of the most popular musicals of all time.
Musical Spy x Family Announcement
While fans eagerly await Spy x Family Season 2 and the upcoming movie, some lucky fans in Japan will soon be able to experience the story of the Forger family trio in live musical form.
During the first season’s initial run, the Musical Spy x Family stage play was announced.
The initial announcement did not reveal much about the play, though more details were shared in the latter part of 2022.
Specifically, the main cast of the series was highlighted, including the multiple actors that will play Loid, Yor, and Anya Forger.
Given that live stage plays are tiring and often run for consecutive days, many productions feature two or more actors for the main roles. For this musical, two actors each will play Loid Forger and Yor Forger.
Meanwhile, Anya will be played by four adorable child actresses that were selected following a lengthy audition process.
These four actresses will take turns playing the pink-haired telepath during the play’s March run.
As with most anime stage adaptations though, this upcoming musical is only expected to run in Japan.

Spy x Family Musical Inspires Official Anya Artwork
Currently, Tatsuya Endo is on a month-long break, possibly in preparation for the movie and Season 2. Despite this, he continues to be semi-active in releasing artwork for fans.
His latest art is of Anya Forger to celebrate the new musical. Here, Anya is shown wearing a red dress with large black and white ribbons. She also holds a fancy parasol in her right hand.
Fans noted in the comments that the artwork is likely a reference to My Fair Lady, the popular Broadway musical that was adapted into a film starring Audrey Hepburn.
While Audrey Hepburn’s signature dress in the film was colored white, it is adorned with the same black and white ribbons on Anya's dress in the artwork.
Musical Spy x Family will be performed at the Imperial Theater in Tokyo from March 8 to 29.
The play will then move to Nishinomiya (near Kobe) and Fukuoka in April and May, respectively.
