While the series only just ended in late March, Spy Classroom has already been renewed for a second season. Recently, on the show’s official channels, a new trailer for Spy Classroom Season 2 was released, revealing its July 2023 release date.
Along with the new trailer, a key visual for the second season was also revealed.
It was also confirmed that the show’s main cast members are returning for the second season, as well as the anime studio feel.
Spy Classroom’s Surprise Season 2 Renewal
Winter 23 was an unusual anime season as it saw lots of major anime delays. Even Spy Classroom was affected, though only one episode was delayed and only for one week.
While the show got some buzz for its star-studded voice cast, it’s fair to say that Spy Classroom wasn’t the most anticipated show of its season. And while it got some discussions online, it didn’t get the same level of hype as other big shows.
Along with the show’s rather low 6.3 rating on MyAnimeList, it’s fair to say that this series wasn't the biggest hit of Winter 23, so it comes as a surprise that it quickly got renewed for another season.
For reference, some of the biggest anime of 2022 such as Bocchi the Rock! and Chainsaw Man have yet to get Season 2 announcements.
Though a quick Season 2 announcement isn’t too out of the ordinary. For instance, Lycoris Recoil was another big 2022 hit, and it got renewed for Season 2 less than five months after its last episode aired.
The Eminence in Shadow also quickly got a Season 2 reveal shortly after its first season finale.

Spy Classroom Season 2 Trailer, Release Date
Spy Classroom Season 2 will feature returning cast members, including Sora Amamiya (Aqua in KonoSuba) as Lily, Miku Ito (Miku Nakano in The Quintessential Quintuplets) as Grete, Ayane Sakura (Ochaco in My Hero Academia) as Sara, and more.
The second season also got an official trailer announcement, though this trailer does not feature much in the way of new footage.

Along with the trailer, visual, and cast info, there’s not a lot of info yet about the next season. Though it’s confirmed that the season will premiere in July 2023.
Given that the first season was streamed on HIDIVE, expect to see Season 2 also get released on HIDIVE this July.
