Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse has always been intended to be split into two parts. That being said, Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse is currently slated to premiere on March 29, 2024.

However, it is possible that the Across the Spider-Verse sequel will likely encounter production delays, considering that the WGA writers’ strike is still ongoing. After all, Spider-Verse 2 has had its share of delays previously, too.

Should any release date changes come, we’ll let you know here.

Naturally, Beyond the Spider-Verse will plan on returning the same cast we saw in Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse.

Of course, this means Shameik Moore and Hailee Steinfeld will be reprising their titular roles as Miles Morales and Gwen Stacy, along with Oscar Isaac’s Miguel O’Hara (Spider-Man 2099), and Issa Rae’s Jessica Drew (Spider-Woman).

While the cast has yet to be confirmed, here’s a list of the main characters we will definitely see reprise their roles in Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse:

  • Jason Schwartzman as The Spot
  • Jake Johnson as Peter B Parker
  • Karan Soni as Pavitr Prabhakar (Spider-Man India)
  • Daniel Kaluuya as Hobie Brown (Spider-Punk)
  • Brian Tyree Henry as Miles’s father Jefferson Davis
  • Luna Lauren Velez as Miles’s mother Rio Morales

Not to mention, since Gwen gathered the old gang back from Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, we might also see Nicolas Cage as Spider-Man Noir, John Mulaney as Peter Porker/Spider-Ham, and Kimiko Glenn as Peni Parker.

Considering that Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse is the Part 2 or sequel to Across the Spider-Verse, then we will certainly see the return of the original crew members on the creative team.

Not to mention, Spider-Verse writer Christopher Miller even previously explained how the team ultimately decided why Across the Spider-Verse should have two parts in an interview with Collider:

“It really because we realized — later than we should have — that we were trying to jam two movies into one movie. And we realized that what became this film was its own full movie. And so it felt like, ‘Oh, this is a whole movie, but we’re trying to jam another movie to the end of it.’ So the film itself made us realize, ‘Oh, this is the second part of a trilogy.’ and so we decided to make that movie.”

It would be difficult to see Beyond the Spider-Verse’s success without writers Christopher Miller and David Callaham along with film helmers Joaquim Dos Santos, Kemp Powers, and Justin K. Thompson.

The official synopsis for Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse is not out yet, but we have a pretty good guess on how it will potentially end the franchise (assuming there won’t be a Part 3).

The end of Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse probably had you on the edge of your seat as we found out Miles had come home to the wrong universe — Earth-42, where his dad is dead, his uncle Aaron Davis is alive, and his other version is out to get him as the Prowler.

As Miles has to find a way to get back home to his universe (Earth-1610), The Spot teleports right in front of his home, unguarded with any Spider-Man apart from Spider-Man 2099 and Spider-Woman overseeing what happens next.

Well, thankfully, since Gwen got that multiverse-jumping device from Spider-Punk, she managed to gather some old friends to help her rescue Miles: Spider-Man Noir, Spider-Ham, and Peni Parker.

Now, we just need to see how Miles will live up to owning his own story, especially since he found out he was never actually supposed to be a Spider-Man in the first place, as previously revealed by Spider-Man 2099.

In case you didn’t know, one of the Spider-Verse writers, Miller, spoke about the meaning behind their chosen title for Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse on Collider:

“It means a lot of things, but it also means we see a sort of map representation of the known Spider-Verse, but there are things that can exist outside of that web of life and destiny, if you will.”
