Sasuke Retsuden (or Naruto: Sasuke's Story—The Uchiha and the Heavenly Stardust in English) is a light novel by Jun Esaka and illustrated by Masashi Kishimoto.

It is one of the many light novel spin-offs of Kishimoto’s ever-popular Naruto series and it was initially released in Japan back in 2019.

In 2022, a manga adaptation of the novel was announced, and it began serialization on Shonen Jump+ back in October.

International fans were also treated to an English release on Manga Plus.

Since its debut, the manga has released a chapter (or at least half a chapter) every two weeks.

Though given that the source material isn’t that long, it’s expected to finish its run quite soon.

Even though it’s a bit on the short side, fans were still given a treat recently as the Boruto anime adapted the Sasuke Retsuden novel.

Specifically, the five recent episodes are known collectively as the Sasuke Retsuden arc, showing the novel’s events in anime form.

As with most Jump+ releases, the Sasuke Retsuden manga also got a physical volume release in Japan.

The first volume was released recently, and it compiles the series’ first couple of chapters.

More importantly, the volume confirmed that the manga will end in Volume 2, which is slated to release sometime in Summer 2023.

There’s no word yet on a proper ending release date, though the manga’s author, Shingo Kimura, did reveal how happy he is that he got to create a Naruto manga.

He also said that he has always been a big fan of single-volume comics.

Right now, there’s no word yet on whether the manga will get a physical release in English internationally.

Though many expect it to be released in the US and other countries soon given how popular the manga has proven to be on Manga Plus.
