Jigokuraku is one of the most anticipated shows of Spring 2023. And while we already know about the main cast, Hell’s Paradise: Jigokuraku recently revealed new cast members, including the voice actor of Izuku “Deku” Midoriya from My Hero Academia.
The new cast members were revealed via the show’s official Twitter account.
There, the four new voice actors were revealed along with the respective characters they’ll voice in this dark fantasy anime.
Deku VA Daiki Yamashita Joins Jigokuraku
Of the four new cast members, Daiki Yamashita is likely the most popular among shonen anime fans. After all, he is the voice of My Hero Academia’s main character, Deku.
Yamashita has also voiced various popular characters in the last couple of years, including Naoto Hachiouji aka Senpai in Don’t Toy with Me, Miss Nagatoro, and Narancia Ghirga in JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure Part 5: Golden Wind.
In Hell’s Paradise: Jigokuraku, Yamashita will play the role of Yamada Asaemon Senta, a supporting character and the executioner assigned to Yuzuriha, a female ninja on death row.
Executioners play a big role in Jigokuraku, as the series follows the story of convicts on death row as they’re sent on an expedition to retrieve the elixir of life. If the convicts obtain the elixir, they will be pardoned for their crimes.
Of course, the convicts won’t go by themselves as each one is assigned an executioner from the Yamada clan, which is best known for being executioners tasked with testing new swords on convicts.

Hell’s Paradise: Jigokuraku New Cast Members
Joining Yamashita is Chikahiro Kobayashi, the voice of Legosi in Beastars and Saichi Sugimoto in Golden Kamuy. In Jigokuraku, he will voice Yamada Asaemon Shion.
Next is Yusuke Kobayashi, who will voice Yamada Asaemon Tenza, another executioner.
Kobayashi is best known for voicing Senku Ishigami in Dr. Stone, Natsuki Subaru in Re:Zero, and Arthur Boyle in Fire Force.
Finally, Hell’s Paradise’s cast is joined by Makoto Koichi as Nurugai. Koichi is the voice actress of Sakura Otome in Lycoris Recoil and Kufo in By the Grace of the Gods.
Hell’s Paradise: Jigokuraku will premiere in April 2023. It is one of the many anime shows by studio MAPPA this year, with the studio also working on titles such as Attack on Titan: The Final Season and Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2.
