As a JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure fan, it is a must to know the timeline of the series. It could get confusing though, especially as a lot of events have taken place throughout the course of the series. But don’t worry! This JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure timeline will help you understand the correct order of events.
JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure Manga Order
Since there is so much content from JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure, each season is usually divided into two parts.
To avoid confusion, here is the manga order for new fans:
- Phantom Blood – It follows the story of Jonathan Joestar who had to face his cunning adoptive brother named Dio Brando
- Battle Tendency – Jonathan’s grandson, Joseph Joestar, encountered the creators of the Stone Mask
- Stardust Crusaders – Jotaro Kujo acquired the abilities of the Stand and planned to save his mother by winning against DIO
- Diamond Is Unbreakable – Josuke Higashikata sought out the Arrow to provide them with the abilities of the Stand and eliminate Yoshikage Kira
- Golden Wind – The son of DIO, Giorno Giovanna, led Passione with a team of Stand users
- Stone Ocean – The daughter of Jotaro Kujo, Jolyne Cujoh, was framed for murder, and she eventually discovered who was behind the crime
- Steel Ball Run – Gyro Zeppeli and Johnny Joestar joined the Steel Ball Run race
- JoJolion – Josuke Higashikata discovered his true identity
It has been confirmed that JOJOLANDS will be the ninth part of the manga, but it will start after a hiatus.

JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure Timeline
- 100,00 B.C. – Kars is born
- 50,000 B.C. – The arrows were created
- 8,000 B.C. – Kars created the Stone Masks. He then decided to kill every member of his race as they plot to execute him. He saved Esidisi, Wamuu, and Santana.
- 50 B.C. – Wamuu, Esidisi, and Kars started their 2,000-year slumber. They thought they were able to eliminate the Ripple clan.
- 1860 – Zeppeli became an apprentice of the Ripple
- 1863 – Zeppeli began the Ripple of the Heavens training
- 1968 – Jonathan Joestar was born
- 1881 – George Joestar adopted Dio
- 1888 – Jack the Ripper became a well-known murderer. Dio chose to become a vampire and used the Stone Mask. Dio turned Jack the Ripper into a vampire while Jonathan met Zeppeli and started learning the Ripple. Jonathan then eliminated Jack the Ripper.
- 1889 – Jonathan and Erina married, but Jonathan died along with other passengers on the Atlantic Ocean, except for Erina and Elizabeth. George Joestar II was born.
- 1920 – Joseph Joestar was born
- 1921 – George Joestar II was killed by Dio’s zombies. Elizabeth avenged George and became Lisa Lisa after the Speedwagon Foundation helped her.
- 1938 – Santana woke up after 2000 years. Joseph learned about Jonathan’s death. Joseph defeated Straizo and Santana. Wamuu, Esidisi, and Kars woke up.
- 1939 – Joseph faced the Pillar Men, the creators of the Stone Mask. Joseph’s funeral took place.
- 1943 – Holy Joestar was born
- 1966 – Yoshikage Kira was born
- 1983 – Kira committed his first murder
- 1984 – DIO woke up from his 100-year sleep
- 1987 – DIO’s Stand power can manifest through the Bow and Arrow while Joseph’s Stand Power manifested as well. DIO gave an arrowhead to Enrico Pucci.
- 1988 – Pucci befriended DIO and discussed Heaven. Avdol also encountered DIO and DIO discovered that his Stand has the ability to stop time. Kakyoin was freed from DIO’s control and decided to join the Joestars.
- 1989 – Dio Brando/DIO and Jonathan Joestar died
- 1990 –Jotaro and Polnareff started looking for the Stand arrows
- 1995 – Risotto received a Stand and joined Passione
- 1998 – Anjuro Katagiri received a Stand because of the Bow and Arrow
- 1999 – Tamami Kobayashi, Shigechi, Yukako Yamagishi, and Koichi Hirose gained a Stand. Kira died in the same year.
- 2011 – Jolyne attained Stone Free but was imprisoned. Jotaro visited her and they were attacked by one of DIO’s disciples. Enrico Pucci died this year.
- 2012 – Jolyne was able to escape prison but she died. The universe was reset by Made in Heaven. Time resumed in November 2011. After a couple of months, it was reset once again and this time, Emporio met the counterparts of the previous Annakiss and Irene.
