Just like Kamala, Kamran is a child of someone from the Noor dimension. His mother is Najma, a colleague turned enemy of Aisha. However, unlike Ms. Marvel, he got his powers in a different way. In Ms. Marvel Episode 5, Time and Again, Kamran surprisingly gets his powers after Najma dies. When a Clandestine tried to enter but it only disintegrated her. Najma wanted to try again even with Kamala’s objections. Kamala mentioned to Najma that she took away the only thing Aisha wanted, which was to be with family.

Even when Najma was the one who killed Aisha, Kamala remains to have good faith in her as she tries to convince her that she still has a son waiting for him. Najma realized that she abandoned her son, Kamran.

As a last effort for her love for her son, Najma knew the risks of the veil being opened so she decided to be the one to close it even if it meant dying. With her last breath, she blurts the name of her son, Kamran.

At the same time, even if Kamran is on the other side of the globe in the US, Kamran felt the Noor coming into him, like a surge of energy flowing. His eyes glowed as well and his fists, too, a bluish light forming around his hand.

He goes to Bruno as he had nowhere else to go. Bruno gave him a place to lay low but he was followed by a drone, when Kamran saw it, he blasted it with his very own hard light, amazing Bruno that he has the same powers like Kamala’s, just a different color.

Kamran’s new powers resemble his look as accurate as the comics where he is an Inhuman like Kamala Khan and he got exposed to the Terrigen Mist as well. Kamran has the ability to emit a bioluminescent glow from his body and he has biokinetic energy wherein he can cause objects to explode on its own. However, he’s no ally because he works for the crime boss Gordon Nobili.

This time, he’s not Inhuman but he seemed to have inherited the powers of her mother when Najma died and closed the veil. Much like Kamala, it’s genetic and it needed a jolt to be activated. However, for Kamala, it’s the bangle and for Kamran, it’s the death of his mother.

His powers are almost the same as Kamala’s, only a different color but as per the caliber of his abilities, that is a different question. See, Kamala’s powers are from a primordial power that Aisha possessed. For Kamran, it is an inherited power which means his powers only go to the extent of what Najma can do.

Whether Kamran will be a villain remains a question. With his comic book origins being one, it is not far that he would be a bad guy in the finale especially with the death of his mother and Kamala being there. It is highly possible that he would blame Kamala for his mother’s death even if it is a sacrifice Najma made.

Let’s see how Kamran will turn out in the finale. Ms. Marvel Episode 6 releases on Disney Plus on July 13, 2022.
