The story goes full circle as Ms. Marvel Episode 5 reveals that Kamala really traveled back in time and she even had a part in the story of her grandmother, Sana, who got lost when she was a child after being separated from her father at the train station. The trail of stars is finally revealed and it is magic!
Ms. Marvel: Kamala Is The Trail of Stars That Saved Her Grandmother Sana
In Ms. Marvel Episode 2, over dinner, Yusuf recounts the story of the Partition of India. Kamala’s mother, Muneeba, walks away because her family’s story of that event is something that she ran away from for years.
As Yusuf tells the story, Sana, the grandmother of Kamala, was just a toddler when she got separated from her father who was severely injured. It was said that Sana reunited with her father by following the trail of stars. As for Sana’s mother, she disappeared that day, never to be found again.
Ms. Marvel Episode 5 finally explains what the trail of stars is. The reason why Aisha disappeared that night during the Partition was because she was stabbed by Najma and with her remaining strength, she overhears the cries of Sana and while she is bleeding to death.
While looking at their family picture, she blurts out “What you seek is seeking you,” as if calling on all her powers to summon someone. She calls for Kamala and before Aisha expires, she entrusts Sana to Kamala to make sure Sana gets on the train and for her to protect the bangle.

Aisha tells Kamala that she knows that Sana will be okay because she is already there. Aisha hands a family picture to Kamala then her life finally fades away. Kamala rushes to find Sana who is crying in the middle of the crowd. With the sea of people and the train about to leave, Kamala knows that Sana might not make it so she helps her by letting her step on her hard light.
Kamala bumps into another person. The hard light dissolves into tiny pieces of light leading Sana to Hasan. Hasan sees the light with Sana following it and he immediately knows that such is Aisha’s magic. They jump into the train and it leaves. Kamala realizes that all this time, she is the trail of stars that led Sana to Hasan as told in the stories.
The story goes full circle and Kamala really traveled back in time. This is another way of traveling back in time in the Marvel Cinematic Universe which changes the game in the franchise as time travel is now being explored. Kamala going back in time and taking part in history is something new.
