Kamala Khan traces her roots in Ms. Marvel Episode 4 and she may have just uncovered another thing about the bangle that was passed down to her by Sana, her grandmother, who is revealed to be its last user – it changed over the years and somehow, it has something that only appeared when she wore it, the inscriptions.
Ms. Marvel: Is The Bangle Evolving?
From the first time Kamala ever laid her eyes on the bangle, she immediately became attracted to it to the point that even if Muneeba, her mother, sent it away to their attic, the teen hero couldn’t resist the urge to wear it as her personal touch for her costume but it turns out it unlocks her powers from within.
Since then, Kamala has been scrambling to whoever can share to her the origins of the bangle or tell her more about her great-grandmother, Aisha, whom the bangle originally belonged to. Throughout the season, Kamala learns that Aisha tarnished their family name and brought shame to it that Muneeba faced the consequences that forced her to fly and have a new start in the US.
But for Sana, she even sent the bangle to Kamala, fully aware that such a bangle has powers. Ms. Marvel Episode 4 revealed that Sana was the last one to use the bangle, at the time she got lost and separated from her father during the Partition. She said that a trail of stars led her to her father’s arms but with the bangle, the stars may be hard light guiding her back to her father.
In the same episode, Kamala stumbled upon the Red Dagger, Kareem, who brought her to Waleed, and finally, someone who is willing to share to her more about her powers. It was also Waleed who noticed something different with the bangle.

Waleed is surprised to see that there are inscriptions on the bangle that weren’t there before. It is in Urdu and it says “what you seek is seeking you.” While they don’t know what it means yet, it only points to one thing: the bangle is so magical that it alters itself to fit the bearer.
From the start, Kamala is seeking for the truth behind her powers and her roots to know more about Aisha and in the end of the episode, when Najma’s blade met with the bangle, Kamala was pushed back in time where she arrived in 1947, during the boarding of the last train to Karachi at the time of the Partition.
The bangle is so much more than just a relic and while it is the key for the Clandestines to fully lay down their plans, for Kamala, it is her key of finding out the truth that is finally seeking her.
