Of the many things that made the fans and viewers love Moon Knight even more, Steven Grant will definitely be on the list given that he has been the light of the show and of Marc’s life, too, and with Episode 5 ending with him left frozen in sand in the realm of the Duat, everyone is curious in the finale as to how Steven is alive in Episode 6, Gods and Monsters.

Moon Knight Episode 6: How is Steven Alive in the Finale
The finale delivered more than what is expected on the show and it was just enough to conclude the current story, at the same time, it teases what comes next for the titular character as Khonshu introduced the third persona of Marc and Steven as Jake Lockley. But with Steven in the finale, how did he come back to life after being frozen in sand at the realm of the Duat. Well, it is all because of Marc.
On the Field of Reeds, Marc sees how peaceful everything is and his heart is already full. Taweret tells him that such peace he feels is the one he never got in reality. Marc remarked that it was all so quiet, one he never had in years after the death of his brother. Since he has a dissociative identity disorder, his mind has never been quiet until he reached the coveted afterlife.
However, Marc cannot dismiss the fact the he cannot enjoy peace without Steven. He cannot accept that he would enjoy the Field of Reeds, the beauty of it. It was Steven who knew of the place since it was him who told Marc everything about it. Taweret warns Marc not to go back to the realm of the Duat because when someone comes out of the Field of Reeds, there is no turning back.
Still, Marc was persistent. He immediately went back to the realm of the Duat where Steven was really close to the gates of Osiris which has already closed. Marc explains to Steven that since Steven arrived his life, he became his light and escape, that he never gave up because he knows he is never alone.

Before turning frozen in sand, Marc puts his full heart on Steven’s hand and a light shine on them as the gates opens once again. From being sand people, they turned back and all Steven could say is that Marc came back for him, with all smiles., However, the Duat forms a huge wall to stop them but Taweret is there to stop it, even calling Osiris a softie, probably Osiris also felt the need of Marc to be alive.
From then on, they became a package deal, even in dealing with Khonshu. One would not have to ask the permission of the other to be in control of the body. When Marc is in his Moon Knight form, Steven gets into being Mr. Knight.
While both of them are freed by Khonshu, there is another persona that is bound to the god of the moon – Jake Lockley and presumably, he is the one Marc adopted to cope up with all the deaths while he was in service and in his mercenary days. There is still a future for the character but what comes next remains a question of everyone.
