Loki Season 2 is nearing its end. With only two episodes left, this begs the question of whether or not the hit MCU series is getting renewed for Season 3. Now that the God of Mischief transformed into the God of Stories with the potential overhaul of the current MCU timeline, could this mean Loki Season 3 is on the way? Here's everything you need to know.

Loki Season 2 still has two remaining episodes left before the series comes to an end, but it did lead MCU fans to wonder whether we're getting a Loki Season 3 out of it or not.

Upon Loki Season 2's premiere, executive producer Kevin Wright shed light on where they see the series going (via Collider):

"It was similar to Loki Season 1 in we wanted to tell this story and tell it well, but even in Season 1, we obviously were thinking about where we were going. I would say Season 1 and Season 2 were developed and created as, like, kind of two chapters of the same book.
Season 2 was about closing that book but that there are many other books on the shelf for this character and for this world. But this felt like it wanted to be the conclusion of these great things that we set up in Season 1. We don't want to constantly leave people with drastic cliffhangers for our finales."

However, the most we could say about their update on a potential Loki Season 3 came from a talk with Variety before Season 2's release:

"I think it's open-ended. We certainly did not develop this season going, 'We have to tee up Season 3' - in the way that we did with Season 1, where there was a very specific, 'Hey, we're coming back.' But I also think that where this show goes, there certainly can be many, many, many more stories told with Loki in the 'Loki' world, and in other worlds connected to Loki, the character."

Given how Loki Season 2 ended with the former God of Mischief taking the throne of He Who Remains, the future of a third season remains bleak and unpredictable.

The ending of Loki Season 2 already feels conclusive, not to mention, with no post-credit scenes announcing that a Season 3 is on the way (similar to how Season 1 had one), then a future Marvel movie or series continuing the Loki variant's MCU role is more likely.

The Loki series wouldn't be the Loki series without our titular characters, namely, Tom Hiddleston as the main God of Mischief we're following on this timeline, Owen Wilson as TVA Agent Mobius M. Mobius, and Sophia Di Martino as Sylvie aka Lady Loki.

As for the MCU big bad, Victor Timely, his timeline was reset back to when he was an innocent young boy, which could lead to encountering a different Kang the Conqueror variant in the upcoming MCU movies and series.

The minor characters that have a bigger chance of returning to the series include Gugu Mbatha-Raw as Ravonna Renslayer, Wunmi Mosaku as Hunter B-15, Eugene Cordero as Casey, and Tara Strong as Miss Minutes (if she does get back into the TVA system).

Not to mention, the newest cast members might also see themselves returning for their respective roles, such as Ke Huy Quan's MCU debut as Ouroboros or OB, and Rafael Casal as X-5 or Brad Wolfe, or quite possibly, Zaniac.

Well, since Loki Season 3 hasn't been officially renewed yet, the most we can do for now is speculate how the story could continue in the third season.

Since Loki has changed the course of time and discovered his glorious purpose as the God of Stories, his involvement in the MCU continuity remains at large.

Not only would this mean he's likely going to appear in Avengers: The Kang Dynasty, Deadpool 3, and quite possibly, in Doctor Strange movies, but he also has the potential to become one of the MCU's most overpowered characters in existence.
