Avengers: The Kang Dynasty Release Date: When Will the Marvel Movie Come Out?

The San Diego Comic-Con was a blast for Marvel fans as the franchise announces what comes next for the MCU and especially, Earth's mightiest heroes now that half of the original six are gone and the other half is retiring.

Well, the next release of the heroes getting together would be Avengers: The Kang Dynasty and as announced during the SDCC event, it will be released on May 2, 2025, in theaters.

However, rumor has it that the whole slate of the MCU will be pushing back its releases. Still, while there is no confirmation yet whether this is true, let's all hold on to the May 2, 2025 release.

Of course, as per the title, Kang the Conqueror would be present and that means Jonathan Majors will be suiting up as the next Thanos-level threat to the multiverse and the heroes.

Despite the current issues that the actor is facing following the alleged assault that he committed to a 30-year-old woman, neither Disney nor Marvel commented on the matter nor on whether Majors would be replaced.

Other than the villain, the remaining heroes in the MCU are Benedict Cumberbatch's Doctor Strange, Paul Rudd's Ant-Man, Brie Larson's Captain Marvel, and more.

Those who are new to the franchise like Simu Liu's Shang-Chi, Iman Vellani's Ms. Marvel and Oscar Isaac's Moon Knight are expected to be in the movie as well.

Surprisingly, in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Mark Ruffalo who plays Hulk, while talking to Tatiana Maslany who portrays She-Hulk, said, “Alright you can have a year. No, she’s in now, there’s not going to be another Avengers without her.”

Maslany, who was shocked with what Ruffalo said, reacted to the actor's statement and Ruffalo replied, "That’s what I’m hearing.” Ruffalo seemingly confirms She-Hulk as part of Avengers: The Kang Dynasty.

From the comic book storyline of Avengers #41 to 55 and Avengers Annual 2001, Avengers: The Kang Dynasty is written by Kurt Busiek with the illustrations of Kieron Dwyer, Ivan Reis, Manuel Garcia, and Alan Davis.

Avengers: The Kang Dynasty just landed its director with the same filmmaker that made Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, Destin Daniel Cretton as reported by The Hollywood Reporter.

As for the scribe of Avengers: The Kang Dynasty, Cretton will be working with Jeff Loveness, writer of Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, as he has been tapped to pen the script for the film as reported by Deadline.

However, on The Hot Mic Podcast, insider Jeff Sneider reports that Jeff Loveness is leaving the project. He clarified, too, that this has nothing to do with the ongoing strike of the WGA.

Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures will be distributing the Avengers: The Kang Dynasty and it will be produced by Kevin Feige.

There is no production date yet for Avengers: The Kang Dynasty.

There is no official plot yet for Avengers: The Kang Dynasty but during the D23 Expo, Kevin Feige personally addressed which movie will be directly connected to it.

Talking about Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania, Feige said, "This is a big movie. It goes right into Kang Dynasty."

Avengers: The Kang Dynasty is expected to follow the comic book material wherein it is based on: the comic book storyline of Avengers #41 to 55 and Avengers Annual 2001.

The comic book counterpart of Avengers: The Kang Dynasty is also known as the Kang War which is a 16-part story in the comics following Kang the Conqueror, a known warlord from the future, from the 30th century, and he is one of the most dangerous and longest villain of the Avengers.

Kang the Conqueror arrived at the present time with his son, Marcus, with the goal of being a conqueror, hence, his moniker. He was able to do so and his success earned him being a villain against the Avengers.

Not only that, he is the first ever villain to physically take over the world and no, it is not something like that of Doctor Doom who used mind control powers through the amplification of Purple Man, Kang the Conqueror did it in the classic physical way.

Still, the Avengers won over him.

With the main story of Kang the Conqueror in the comics, it is expected that the people close to his narrative will also appear in Avengers: The Kang Dynasty such as his son Marcus, the Scarlet Centurion, and more.

As teased by He Who Remains from Loki Season 1 who is a variant of Kang the Conqueror, the latter is much more sinister than him who just wanted to keep the sacred timeline in check and not branch out.

He Who Remains even warned Loki and Sylvie but of course, Sylvie had her life hating He Who Remains.

Jonathan Majors is expected to helm Kang the Conqueror throughout the MCU and he will first be seen in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania where his origins would be explored more.

Kang the Conqueror is being poised as the next level Thanos-like threat in the MCU but surely, there are more sinister forces to be introduced later on like the cosmic entities in Thor: Love and Thunder with Eternity, Infinity, The Living Tribunal, and Uatu the Watcher.
