While most fans were quick to accept Kim Seon Ho’s apology, some brands that the K-drama actor is promoting are said to be displeased by how he handled the issue. Keep on reading to know more details.

Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha Star Kim Seon Ho Reportedly Called ‘Unprofessional’ And ‘Unreliable’

Kim Seon Ho has achieved global fame after he appeared as Han Ji Pyeong in the 2020 television series titled Start-Up, which also starred Bae Suzy, Kang Han Na, and Nam Joo Hyuk. He even became more popular after he starred in the South Korean drama series called Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha, alongside actress-model Shin Min Ah, earlier this year.

Just days following the final episode of Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha, an anonymous netizen accused “Actor K” of causing her irreversible trauma since they started dating in early 2020. The accusations, posted on the online community website Nate Pann, did not include evidence to back up the claims. However, all clues pointed out to Kim Seon Ho.

SALT Entertainment and Kim Seon Ho did not respond to the allegations right away. Some South Korean media outlets even tried to contact the agency and the actor. But, both are unreachable at the time.

Things exacerbated when numerous brands that Kim Seon Ho endorses started removing him from their social media platforms and official websites. Among the brands that cut ties with the K-drama actor are Domino’s Pizza, Nau, La Roche Posay and 11Street.

Though Kim Seon Ho released an apology statement, a representative from one of the brands involved with the South Korean star clarified that the decision to remove him was not only based on the accusations. As per Sports Chosun, the source said:

“When the scandal broke, we tried to get in touch with him or his agency the whole day. We needed answers but it had been impossible to get a hold of him. We don’t understand why he decided to ghost us, too. He should have explained the situation and let us handle it with him. Only had he been up front, we wouldn’t have had to cut ties with him.”

Another unidentified informant, who also from a different brand that Kim Seon Ho endorses, claimed that the lack of communication is one of the primary reasons why they needed to end their engagement with the actor. The tipster shared:

“Fame comes with additional responsibilities. Having more endorsements means having more terms and conditions to live by… And after seeing how little he cared for his responsibilities as a model binded by contract with us, we realized it would be impossible to continue working with him.
Kim Seon Ho’s reputation isn’t as important as his reliability. We need to be able to trust him as our model. But because he handled the crisis with zero professionalism and maturity, we have no choice but to reconsider our contract. We foresee that it will be difficult for him to rebuild the trust with other brands as well.”

Koreaboo shared that Kim Seon Ho is likely to be penalized up for up to $4.25 million should all the brands he endorses end up their deals with the 2 Days & 1 Night star following the abortion scandal. However, as per Economist Korea, there have been reports that none of the labels have notified Seon Ho about his termination yet as of this writing.

An unnamed representative of Nau, another brand that Kim Seon Ho promotes, said:

“Nothing has been decided yet. Any content featuring the actor has been removed since the scandal but the brand has not yet agreed on termination.”
