Princess Anne and Camilla Parker-Bowles have been rumored to be not on good terms for years now. Reports claimed that the two royals have been butting heads behind closed doors despite putting on a united front for the public.

Princess Anne And Camilla Parker-Bowles’ Spat Is Said To Be At An All-Time High
New Idea Magazine, in its Oct. 18, 2021 issue, claimed that Princess Anne was displeased after she heard about Prince Charles’ plan to let the public call his wife Queen Camilla should he finally inherit the throne from Queen Elizabeth.
The entertainment news outlet said that the Princess Royal has laid down the law and told her sister-in-law that she will never be a queen in her eyes. The unnamed source said:
“Rumours that Charles may walk back on his promise that Camilla would not be queen has riled Anne to no end, and she’s told both Charles and Camilla as much. Anne has made it plain that Camilla will never be a true queen in the eyes of the British subjects. Anne Wields a lot of power and has a lot of respect in that family, so you will find that the Wessexes, and maybe even the Cambridges, will back her on this. Charles and Camilla will face a lot of pushback.”

The magazine recalled that Princess Anne and Camilla Parker-Bowles’ not-so-good relationship started when the Princess Royal the former husband of the Duchess of Cornwall, Andrew Parker-Bowles, while Camilla was in a relationship with Prince Charles. The daughter of Queen Elizabeth was, reportedly, devastated when Andrew broke up with her in 1973 and was later learned to have reunited with Camilla.
Camilla Parker-Bowles divorced Andrew after more than two decades of marriage. Princess Anne tied the knot with Captain Mark Phillips in 1973 and got separated in 1992. The Princess Royal then got married to Sir Timothy Laurence.
Both Princess Anne and Camilla Parker-Bowles have yet to comment on these claims. So, avid followers of the royal family should take all these unverified reports with a huge grain of salt until everything is proven true and correct.
Princess Anne Criticized Younger Royals’ Attempt To Change Royal Family’s Approach To Philanthropy
Meanwhile, in another report, Princess Anne is, reportedly, not happy with the attempts of the younger members of the royal family to modernize elements of the Firm. Express UK shared that Princess Royal, in a previous interview with Vanity Fair, confessed that she is worried as to how the new breed of royals are “in a hurry to change the Royal Family’s approach to philanthropy.”
At the time, Princess Anne said:
“I don’t think this younger generation probably understands what I was doing in the past and it’s often true, isn’t it? You don’t necessarily look at the previous generations and say, ‘Oh, you did that? Or you want there?’ Nowadays, they’re much more looking for ‘Oh Let’s do it a new way. And I’m already at the stage, ‘Please do not reinvent that particular wheel.’ We’re been there, done that – some of these things don’t work. You may need to go back to basics.”

The statement of Princess Anne came after younger royals like Prince William have attempted to refashion a number of aspects of royal life. A royal source even told US Weekly that the husband of Kate Middleton already has big ideas should he finally take over the throne from Queen Elizabeth and his father, Prince Charles. The insider said:
“While he respects protocol, he plans to modernize some aspects and is making it his mission to be more relatable to previous generations. He and Kate have successfully created a healthy balance of openness while maintaining the sense of mystery that surrounds the Royal Family and keeps us engaged.”
Despite their new ways of doing things, Prince William and Kate Middleton remain committed to philanthropy just like the older members of the royal family. The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have yet to comment on the statements of Princess Anne.
