Are Kim Seon Ho And Shin Min Ah Reuniting For Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha Season 2?

Unfortunately, neither tvN nor Netflix has confirmed that Kim Seon Ho and Shin Min Ah would be back to do Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha Season 2. There is no doubt that the K-drama series garnered high viewership ratings during its run, which means numerous viewers were hooked by the compelling love story of Du Sik and Hye Jin.

The characters of Kim Seon Ho and Shin Min Ah started as frenemies after the latter experienced a series of unfortunate events when she visited Gongjin. Hye Jin lost her shoe and was forced to stay in the coastal town overnight after her car’s engine got busted.

Should Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha Season 2 come into fruition, there are still several possible storylines to be explored, especially since fans did not witness Du Sik and Hye Jin exchanging their wedding vows. tvN might explore the life of Kim Seon Ho and Shin Min Ah’s characters after they officially tied the knot.

It would be interesting to see Du Sik and Hye Jin building their own family in Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha Season 2. As a matter of fact, the pair decided to have two children in one of the episodes of the first installment.

Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha Season 2 may also have an unexpected twist like Du Sik and Hye Jin calling off their wedding. Again, viewers were not able to see the lead characters tie the knot and wear their wedding bands in the original series. So, there are a lot of things that can happen.

Moreover, tvN may also feature the continuous recuperation of Du Sik from his chaotic past in Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha Season 2. It would also be amusing to see Hye Jin adjusting to her extravagant lifestyle as she tries to replicate her husband’s simple way of living.

Of course, all of these are simply predictions of what may happen should tvN order Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha Season 2. Everything should be taken lightly until the South Korean television network confirm the yet-to-be-announced sequel.

Why Kim Seon Ho And Shin Min Ah Might Not Reunite In Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha Season 2?

While many fans want to see Kim Seon Ho and Shin Min Ah on the small screen together again, a few believe that this may no longer happen even if tvN orders the creation of Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha Season 2. Aside from the fact that Du Sik and Hye Jin’s story has concluded already, the conflict in the lead stars’ schedules may prevent them from reprising their roles.

On October 7, Soompi reported that Shin Min Ah is set to star in an imminent K-drama called Our Blues. The South Korean actress would appear in the said show alongside Lee Byung Hun, Han Ji Min, Lee Jung Eun, Cha Seung Won, Uhm Jung Hwa, and her real-life boyfriend Kim Woo Bin.

Our Blues, according to the report, is an omnibus-style drama that focuses on telling the sweet, sour, and bitter stories of diverse characters from different walks of life in the lively setting of Jeju Island. The entertainment news outlet claimed that Shin Min Ah will portray Min Sun Ah, a woman with a secret who arrived at Jeju.

Kim Woo Bin, on the other hand, will play ship captain Park Jung Joon, a warm character who meets Han Ji Min’s Lee Young Ok and falls for her instantly. Though the forthcoming show would star both Shin Min Ah and Kim Woo Bin, the production did not pair the real-life couple.

Noh Hee Kyung, who is the brain behind successful dramas like Live, Dear My Friends, It’s Okay, That’s Love, and That Winter, The Wind Blows, will write the script of Our Blues. Kim Kyu Tae, who helmed Iris, It’s Okay, That’s Love, That Winter, The Wind Blows, and Scarlet Heart: Goryeo, will direct the upcoming television series, which is scheduled to be released in 2022.

Kim Seon Ho, for his part, is expected to take a temporary break from showbiz after he got involved in an abortion scandal lately. The Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha actor was confirmed to leave the variety show 2 Days & 1 Night following the controversy.

An unnamed ex-girlfriend of Kim Seon Ho claimed that he forced her to abort a baby when they were still together. The source said the K-drama actor vowed to marry her and forced her to terminate her pregnancy.

On October 20, Kim Seon Ho released an apology regarding his past actions toward his former ladylove. After Salt Entertainment checked the facts, the Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha lead star shared an apology letter, saying:

“This is Kim Seon Ho. I sincerely apologize for the belated statement. I experienced a fear that felt for the first time after the article with the mention of my name was released a while ago, and that is why I am writing this now.
I was seeing her with good emotions. In that process, I hurt her due to my carelessness and inconsiderate actions.
I wanted to meet and apologize to her directly, but I am not able to properly convey the apology now and am waiting for that time to come. For now, I would like to genuinely apologize to her through this statement.
I apologize for also disappointing all of those who trusted and supported me until the end. It was all thanks to those who supported me that I was able to become the actor Kim Seon Ho, but I had forgotten that. I apologize for causing trouble to my co-stars and all of the related staff who worked with me due to my flaws. I would like to sincerely apologize to everyone who was hurt.
I am aware that this rambling statement will not fully reach your hearts, but I am still attempting to convey my sincere thoughts. I am very sorry.”

Aside from his departure from 2 Days & 1 Night, where he was one of the regular cast members, it was also claimed that Kim Seon Ho was removed as an endorser in various brands that he had promoted. Prior to his appearance in Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha, Seon Ho also appeared in Start Up and 100 Days, My Prince.
