Jujutsu Kaisen 0 Theatrical Run to Conclude This May

There is little doubt that Jujutsu Kaisen 0 has been a huge success at the box office since its release back in December. However, it looks like this is finally coming to an end. The anime prequel film will conclude its theatrical run in Japan by the end of May 2022.

The official Jujutsu Kaisen anime Twitter account has announced that the film will finally be leaving Japanese theaters on May 29, 2022. Jujutsu Kaisen 0 was first released in Japanese cinemas on December 29, 2021, and has been a huge success in the country for the past five months.

This is sad news for fans who have repeatedly flocked to theaters to continue watching Jujutsu Kaisen 0. Still, the film is also expected to be released on DVD and Blu-ray so we'll be waiting for an update about the movie's home release in the next few weeks. Stay tuned for more updates on this story.

It was previously reported that Jujutsu Kaisen 0 is now the 15th highest-grossing movie in Japan with a 13.61 billion yen gross in the country. In addition to that, it is currently the 7th highest-grossing anime film of all time with a global box office gross of US$185,824,427. This puts the movie ahead of Stand By Me Doraemon, which previously held the 7th spot in the list of highest-grossing anime films.

International fans who haven't seen the film in theaters yet can rest assured that the announcement only covers Jujutsu Kaisen 0's Japanese theatrical run. This means that the movie will continue to screen worldwide and has a bigger chance of earning more in the next few weeks. Stay tuned for more updates on this story.
