After much anticipation, the official list of Crunchyroll Awards nominees has finally been revealed. Out of all the shows there, it’s Chainsaw Man and Jujutsu Kaisen that lead as these two shows have the most nominations for the Crunchyroll Awards 2024.
Crunchyroll recently revealed the list of nominees, and as expected, this latest event is stacked with lots of big shows.
Every year has a selection of notable titles, but it’s arguable that this year’s event might just be the most stacked yet, especially the Anime of the Year category.
Crunchyroll Awards 2024’s Anime of the Year Is Incredibly Stacked
For the 8th Crunchyroll Awards, six shows were nominated in the most prestigious Anime of the Year category. These include:
- Bocchi the Rock!
- Chainsaw Man
- Demon Slayer: Swordsmith Village Arc
- Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2
- Oshi no Ko
- Vinland Saga Season 2
It’s fair to say that in any given year, all of these shows deserve to be called Anime of the Year, though only one will take home the awards’ biggest prize. Thus, it’ll be interesting to see which one wins.
Some fans may be wondering why Bocchi the Rock! and Chainsaw Man are nominated. After all, both shows aired back in 2022.
That’s because the Crunchyroll Awards has a cutoff date of September. This means the upcoming awards only feature shows from Fall 2022 to Summer 2023.
Aside from this main category, there are also 31 other awards ranging from genre-specific to performance categories.

Chainsaw Man and Jujutsu Kaisen Lead the Nominations
Even before the awards ceremony, it’s already clear that Chainsaw Man is the biggest winner, at least when it comes to nominations. That’s because the show has 17 nominations – the most of any series.
Right behind it is Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 with 14 nominations. This shouldn’t come as a surprise given how both MAPPA shows were consistently trending in the anime community during their run.
While fans of these shows are no doubt happy with their nominations, some anime fans online have voiced their disappointment about some notable omissions.
For instance, fans of The Dangers in My Heart noted how the show wasn’t nominated in the Best Romance category.
Still, there are many notable nominations here, with shows like Heavenly Delusion and Hell’s Paradise getting five and seven each.
The Crunchyroll Awards 2024 event is happening on March 2, 2024, at the Grand Prince Hotel New Takanawa in Tokyo.
