Jujutsu Kaisen 0 is Now 15th Highest Grossing Film in Japan

It has been several months since Jujutsu Kaisen 0 was released in Japan but it looks like the film is far from slowing down. The anime prequel is now the 15th highest-grossing movie in Japan and is well on its way to climbing even higher up in the future!

Mantan Web confirms that Jujutsu Kaisen 0 has risen to the 15th spot of the highest-grossing films in Japan. The movie initially debuted on the 20th spot but has now earned over 13.50 billion yen since its release in December 2021. That means the movie is currently tied at the 15th spot with E.T., Armageddon, and Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban.

This isn't exactly a huge surprise considering that people are still eager to watch Jujutsu Kaisen 0. The film has already been released internationally and has been wildly successful in almost every territory. With that in mind, the prequel could overtake the movies it is currently tied with and climb even higher up the list very soon.

Jujutsu Kaisen 0 is based on Gege Akutami's manga of the same name that serves as a prequel to the main manga. It follows Yuta Okkotsu as he enrolls at the Tokyo Prefectural Jujutsu High School in an effort to get rid of the powerful curse that used to be his childhood friend. With the help of the powerful sorcerer Satoru Gojo, Yuta learns to accept the curse and how to control it to help others.

The movie adaptation is currently screening in theaters worldwide and is expected to be released in more countries soon. It was recently confirmed for release in Poland and the Baltics and fans are hoping that it will eventually premiere in theaters throughout Asia. Stay tuned for more updates on this story.
