Jujutsu Kaisen 0 Director Reveals How Gojo Truly Felt About Geto

Jujutsu Kaisen 0 may have been about Yuta Okkotsu but the anime film also shone the spotlight on his teacher and mentor Satoru Gojo. One of the interesting revelations in the movie was that Gojo had been long-time friends with the main villain Suguru Geto who was once a student of the Tokyo Institute of Occult Arts. But how did Gojo truly feel about Geto in the prequel's last few minutes? Director Sunghoo Park has shared an interesting explanation about Gojo's true feelings about his former best friend.

In Jujutsu Kaisen 0, Gojo decided to send Yuta on a relatively harmless mission with Toge Inumaki. When the two boys are attacked by a high-level curse, Gojo immediately realizes that the curse was sent by his former classmate Geto, who had been banished for killing innocent people. When Geto declares on the sorcerers and threatens to kill more non-sorcerers, Gojo is forced to fight against his former best friend.

Sunghoo Park's comments were shared on Twitter and it offers new insight into what Satoru Gojo was going through as he realized he would have to fight Suguru Geto in Jujutsu Kaisen 0.

“I think they are best friends but Gojo has to cut off his relationship with Geto, who became a curse user. He must put an end to the man named Geto. The sadness of the parting was the theme of the relationship between the two in the movie,” Park said.

“The moment the word 'Geto' comes out, Gojo reacts differently than usual. Gojo’s feelings are also expressed in such details,” he concluded.

It is clear that Geto has always had a profound effect on Gojo but we also see how he struggles with his feelings for his friend. Needless to say, their last moment together was an emotional one for fans.

Jujutsu Kaisen 0 will be removed from Japanese theaters on May 29 but will continue to screen internationally worldwide.
