Toward the end of Episode 5 of Demon Slayer Season 3, Tanjiro was relieved to see Genya in the forest.

At that point, Genya had already pinned Aizetsu to a tree and beheaded him.

When Tanjiro called him out, Genya looked at Tanjiro, and his jaw dropped.

Genya revealed fangs in his mouth and hissed at Tanjiro. The bulging veins and his eyes had now turned black and yellow.

But did Genya turn into a demon? The answer is no. Well, he does look like a demon but only for a short period of time.

The Demon Slayer manga reveals that Genya possesses an extraordinary power that allows him to transform into a demon-like being.

Also, Genya has special digestive organs that allow his body to easily digest the demon's flesh.

Drawing a comparison between Nezuko and Genya is obvious as they get their powers by tapping into their demonic abilities.

However, Genya is still able to suppress the demonic possession and avoid it taking over his consciousness.

After devouring the flesh of a demon, Genya gets fangs, yellow tips in his hair, and a dark sclera.

What works in his favor is that he becomes stronger than his human form.

With his improved physical constitution mixed with enhanced regeneration ability, he is unstoppable.

It will be interesting to see how Genya utilizes his demon flesh consumption ability.
