How Many Episodes Will Part 2 of Mushoku Tensei Have?

If you're among the many fans that rejoiced to see Mushoku Tensei return, you might be wondering how many episodes the second part is going to have. The studio Bind anime, with its rich world-building and beautiful animation has been a blast for isekai fans ever since it came out as part of the Winter 2021 anime season.

The first 11-episode cour of the isekai left fans wanting more and were disappointed to find out that the second cour skipped both spring and summer. Finally, we rejoined Rudeus in his adventures this Fall.

The show picks up right where it left off, with Rudeus, Eris, and their new companion, Ruijerd, are trying to pass as a party of adventurers while making their way home. Old friends are looking for them, but we have yet to see a reunion between major characters.

According to the popular anime database MyAnimeList, Mushoku Tensei part 2 is going to run for a total of 12 episodes. This is only a slight improvement from last winter's 11 episodes, capping the first season of Mushoku Tensei at 23 episodes in total.

Of course, this doesn't tell us anything definitive about the future of the series. So far, the pacing has been decent and unless the second cour seriously rashes things, we aren't anywhere near the end. The light novel the show is based on follows Rudeus until old age. In the series, he's still a quite young child and has a long way to go in terms of development and future adventures.

This, and the fact that the series has been really popular so far, suggests that a second season might well be possible. Another popular isekai, That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime, got a second season that recently finished airing, so fans of Mushoku Tensei can hope their fave will get a similar treatment.
