Grey's Anatomy Season 18 fans will be thrilled to know that Amelia (Caterina Scorsone) and Kai (E.R. Fightmaster) will share multiple storylines in the upcoming episodes.
After all, ABC just announced that Fightmaster will be featured in Grey's Anatomy Season 18 in a recurring capacity. But it’s still unclear if Fightmaster will continue to appear in the medical drama if Grey's Anatomy Season 19 gets the green light from the network.
Who Is Dr. Kai Bartley In Grey's Anatomy Season 18?
Kai was first featured in Grey's Anatomy Season 18 Episode 3 when Dr. Hamilton (Peter Gallagher) introduced her to Meredith (Ellen Pompeo) and Amelia.
Dr. Hamilton asked Meredith to help him find a cure for Parkinson’s. And since the illness has to do with the brain, Meredith decided to bring Amelia with her to Minnesota.

When Meredith and Amelia returned to Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital, Kai phoned the latter to give her an update on the test that they conducted.
Amelia told Kai that the air-conditioning system at the hospital is not functioning well that’s why she was burning up. Kai tried to calm her down by flirting with her.
ABC described Kai as someone who’s dedicated to her craft and who’s also extremely talented at what they do.
“Confident as hell and able to make even the most detailed and mundane science seem exciting and cool, Kai and Amelia bond over their shared love of medicine and the brain,” the description reads.

Amelia, Kai Will Reunite In Grey's Anatomy Season 18 Episode 5
Variety confirmed that Fightmaster will appear in Grey's Anatomy Season 18 Episode 5 titled Bottle Up and Explode. But it’s still unclear what will happen to her character, Kai.
The official synopsis for the upcoming episode reveals that Meredith and Amelia will fly to Minnesota. So, it is there that Amelia and Kai will cross paths again.
Grey's Anatomy Season 18 Fans Ship Amelia, Kai
Even though it’s still unclear whether Amelia and Kai will develop feelings for each other, fans are already convinced that this could happen in Grey's Anatomy Season 18.
After all, Amelia just got out of her relationship with Link (Chris Carmack). And she also told Addison (Kate Walsh) that she doesn’t want to have any more kids or to even be in a committed relationship.

On Twitter, some fans are urging the writers of Grey's Anatomy Season 18 to write a romantic storyline featuring the two characters.

When Will Grey's Anatomy Season 18 Episode 5 Air?
Unfortunately, fans would have to wait for two more weeks before they see Amelia and Kai’s reunion in Minnesota.
After all, Grey's Anatomy Season 18 is on a break. And Episode 5 will air on Thursday, Nov. 11 at 8 p.m. ET.
ABC released a trailer for Grey's Anatomy Season 18 Episode 5 last week, and it also features some of the characters from Station 19. After all, the medical drama's Nov. 11 episode will serve as another crossover between the two TV shows.
