It may not be AnimeJapan 2023 yet, but Fuji TV just revealed several exciting anime. Among them is Undead Girl Murder Farce, an upcoming murder-mystery anime that delighted fans with its interesting new trailer.
While the other announcements on Fuji TV’s live stream had release dates that are far off, this upcoming anime adaptation will premiere in just a few months.
Specifically, it was revealed that Undead Girl Murder Farce will begin its broadcast in July 2023, meaning it will join the stacked Summer 23 anime season.
Undead Girl Murder Farce Anime Gets Trailer
At the recent live stream, there were some interesting announcements, two of which were original anime.
The first is GOD.app by Yoko Taro, the creator of the NieR series. Studio BONES also has an original anime lined up titled Metallic Rouge.
While not an original anime, Undead Girl Murder Farce is one to watch out for nonetheless as it’s an adaptation of the popular light novel-turned-manga series of the same name. You can check out the anime’s trailer here:
As its title implies, the series features a murder. But it’s not just any sort of killing as it follows the death of a vampire’s wife and the detective that’s called to solve it.
This detective is called the “cage user” as he carries a curtained birdcage featuring a mysterious disembodied head that helps him solve cases.
Even though the manga is published in North America by Kodansha USA, it’s a fairly niche title.
But from the looks of it, the new trailer for the anime has piqued the interest of many anime fans online.

Undead Girl Murder Farce Cast, Release Date
While there’s not much info yet about the show, the three main cast members have been revealed.
Voicing the detective Tsugaru Shinuchi is Taku Yashiro, the voice of Natsuo Fujii in Domestic Girlfriend and Gugu in To Your Eternity.
He is joined by Tomoyo Kurosawa as Aya Rindo. Kurosawa is best known for playing Kumiko Omae in Hibike! Euphonium and Rebecca in Cyberpunk: Edgerunners.
Finally, the maid Shizuku Hasei is voiced by Makoto Koichi, a voice actress who has played supporting roles in shows like Lycoris Recoil and Mushoku Tensei.
Undead Girl Murder Farce will premiere on Fuji TV in July 2023. A Crunchyroll release has also been confirmed in most of the world except in Asia.
For now, there’s no word yet on a specific release date.
