It has been a few days since the release of Cyberpunk: Edgerunners on Netflix, and fans are loving this new anime from studio Trigger. Aside from being praised for its story, Cyberpunk: Edgerunners’ Rebecca is also quickly becoming a fan favorite.
This new anime follows the story of David Martinez and Lucy who are the show’s main characters. Though instead of these two, it seems that it is Rebecca that stole the fans’ hearts.
On Twitter, there are lots of fans that are expressing their love for Rebecca, with particular praise being given to her design and her personality.
According to fans, Rebecca feels like an actual character from Cyberpunk thanks to her fiery personality. Her design is also a stand-out for fans as her distinct look just screams cyberpunk.
In the story, Rebecca is part of Maine’s crew alongside her brother Pilar with whom she always fights.
Rebecca and the rest of the crew meet protagonist David during the story’s events. Soon, Maine invites David to join the crew.
What’s also interesting about Rebecca is her feelings for David. Even though David pretty much friendzones her, she’s still one of the most dedicated crew members to him.
As with most fan-favorite anime characters, there are already lots of Rebecca fan art popping up online. This goes to show how popular both she and the series are currently.
Given her popularity, we won’t be surprised to see Cyberpunk: Edgerunners merchandise featuring Rebecca.
After all, even before the show’s premiere, there were already pre-orders going up for main characters David and Lucy.

Cyberpunk: Edgerunners is an anime series by Trigger and CD Projekt RED that’s based on CD Projekt RED’s Cyberpunk 2077 video game which was released back in December 2020. The game is based on Mike Pondsmith’s Cyberpunk tabletop RPG.
The series follows David, a street kid in Night City. In the story, David becomes an edgerunner – a mercenary outlaw.
As an edgerunner, he comes across various characters from Night City, including netrunner Lucy, as well as Maine and his mercenary crew.
All 10 episodes of Edgerunners are now streaming on Netflix.
While the show received lots of praise, watching it with English subtitles may not be the best idea as Netflix’s English subs have gotten lots of complaints.
