As fans eagerly await the fourth season, Dropkick on My Devil! revealed that an anime spin-off is in the works. This spin-off is interesting as it is an entirely different project from the crowdfunded anime.
This upcoming spin-off is titled Dropkick on My Devil! Apocalypse Arc and it has some key differences from the main anime that it’s based on.
For starters, it is a collaboration with a small town in Japan, plus it’s animated by a different studio.
New Spin-off Is Not the Dropkick on My Devil! Crowdfunded Season
It might not be as popular as the big shounen shows of the year, but Dropkick on My Devil! is a comedy anime with a dedicated fanbase, enough that it has been going on for three seasons now.
The show’s first and second seasons aired in 2018 and 2020, respectively. Though for the third season, the show’s staff launched a crowdfunding event to get the show made.
Thanks to the show’s strong fanbase, the third season met its fundraising goal in just 33 hours. But it took nearly two years before the third season was released.
For Season 4, Dropkick on My Devil! also launched a fundraising campaign.
As with the previous fundraising, this one was a massive success, enough that it was the highest crowdfunding amount reached for a Japanese anime production.
Thanks to this, Season 4 is pretty much confirmed at this point, though it’ll probably be released in 2024 at the earliest.

Dropkick on My Devil! Apocalypse Arc Spin-off Details, Release Date
As for the spin-off, Apocalypse Arc is not connected to the crowdfunding campaign. Partly, this is because it’s a collaboration with the small town of Takamori in Kumamoto Prefecture.
Though this isn’t the first time that the anime was made in partnership with a Japanese municipality. For Season 3, the anime was partly funded by the city of Furano.
However, this did lead to an issue where Furano City officials did not approve of the payment due to an issue with the anime, which was said to depict the city in a bad light.
This upcoming spin-off will also be animated by Makaria. For comparison, the main anime series is made by the anime studio Nomad.
Dropkick on My Devil! Apocalypse Arc will be released later this year. But there’s no word yet on when the anime will be released officially.
