In case you’re unfamiliar, Dropkick on My Devil! (or Jashin-chan Doroppukikku in Japanese) is a comedy anime series by studio Nomad.

It is based on the manga series of the same name by Yukiwo that’s serialized in Comic Meteor magazine.

The anime began with its first season which premiered in 2018. It was followed by a second season which aired in April 2020. Season 2 was only greenlit after the first season sold 2,000 Blu-ray and DVD copies.

As for Season 3, it was only made following a successful crowdfunding campaign.

Entitled Dropkick on My Devil!! X, the third season aired between July and September 2022.

As for its story, the series follows a witch named Yurine Hanazono who summons a lamia (a child-eating monster) called Jashin from hell. For a lamia to go back to hell, they must kill their summoner.

While it may seem that Yurine may be in trouble, it turns out that Jashin is incompetent.

Because of this, Jashin gets stuck on Earth while she continually tries and fails to kill Yurine.

Because of its comedic premise, the anime acquired a dedicated fanbase. It is well-known enough that it even features cameos from the likes of Hatsune Miku.

Despite this, another crowdfunding campaign is needed if a fourth season is to be made.

The new crowdfunding campaign was launched on Wednesday, November 30 via Motion Gallery.

There, it’s detailed that the campaign’s overall goal is to get 12 episodes funded so that a fourth season can be produced.

According to the anime’s staff, a one-cour season would need JPY 300 million to be produced which is JPY 30 million per episode.

For every JPY 30 million that’s funded in the campaign, one OVA episode will be produced.

As the first JPY 30 million goal was reached in just under 35 minutes, there’s a good chance that a full fourth season (entitled Dropkick on My Devil! NEXT) can be produced.

Fans will have to wait a while for it though as the first Dropkick on My Devil! NEXT OVA has a target release of December 2025.
