Does Faputa Join Reg in Made in Abyss?
Yes, Faputa has decided to join Reg in Made in Abyss Season 2.
While Reg and Riko proposed having her onboard, Faputa responded that she would think about it.
However, as they descend into the abyss, Faputa follows them behind and eventually joins the group for their new adventures.
The first time Riko and the others encountered Faputa was when the latter stole Prushka.
For context, Prushka's soul is housed in Riko's white whistle, which Faputa felt a connection with.
Faputa snatched Prushka and ordered Gaburoon to have her toned according to her liking.
The next thing Faputa knew, she found herself in front of Reg, the same boy she had met before and who had promised to help her in fulfilling her life's purpose.
Reg, on the other hand, couldn't recall Faputa, including his promise and obligation to her.
Regardless, Reg sympathized with Faputa, even if he attempted to prevent Faputa from destroying the entire Hollow Village.
In the end, Reg, Riko, and Nanachi realize that Faputa must fulfill her life's purpose in order to free everyone from their burdens and suffering, as well as to put an end to Irumyuui's tragic legacy.

What Is Faputa and Reg’s Relationship?
Reg serves as Faputa's Haku. In Made in Abyss, "Haku" refers to someone's most valuable possession or person in the Abyss.
However, Faputa believes that Reg's Haku is Riko, the one person he was looking for on the surface of the abyss.
Reg and Faputa had an odd connection when they first met.
Faputa has grown fond of Reg due to his kindness, purity, and sense of camaraderie. Surprisingly, Faputa found comfort and peace with Reg.
On the other hand, Reg, much to Faputa's chagrin, had to leave her behind to complete his mission in the Abyss.
When the time comes, Reg promised Faputa that he would return to her to assist her on her own mission.
However, Reg has no recollection of his memories with Faputa when he returns to the Hollow Village.
Nonetheless, Reg felt compassion for Faputa and decided not to abandon her the second time around.

What Is Faputa’s Purpose?
In Made in Abyss, Faputa’s purpose is to avenge her mother’s suffering and the merciless death of her siblings.
In the second season, she is known to be the Princess of the Hollow Village, the living embodiment of Irumyuui’s greatest desire.
For reasons she couldn't explain, Faputa felt a huge hatred towards the residents of the Hollow Village ever since she was born.
However, she knew that it was somehow connected with the events that led to the creation of the Hollow Village.
Over time, Faputa knew that she needed to kill and consume everyone that hurt her mother and siblings to achieve peace and freedom, not only for their sake but also for her own.
But still, Faputa can’t do all of this without help from Reg’s incinerator.
After using Reg's incinerator, Faputa was able to sneak into the Hollow Village and complete her life's purpose.
All of her suppressed emotions and feelings erupted, driving her to slaughter every hollow in sight.
Despite this, the hollows did not stop her because they had accepted their fate a long time ago.
