Doctor Strange 2: Is Hugh Jackman Coming Back as Wolverine?

Hugh Jackman had been the face of Wolverine for almost two decades and he wore the character really well that even after the release of his last film, Logan, people are still looking out for him to reprise his role should the character be back for another shot. While it seems that he may have retired from the role, the rumor mill is loud on Wolverine possibly appearing on Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.

In a scoop from Joseph Deckelmeier of The Illuminedri, Logan would make an appearance in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness and a huge drop that it would not be Hugh Jackman. While the details are still scarce, he may be Logan from any existing universe in the multiverse. For years, Hugh Jackman already said repeatedly that he bid goodbye on his beloved role.

This is not far from happening. Patrick Stewart’s voice was already heard in the trailer and it is speculated that he would be reprising his role as Professor X, a member of Marvel’s Illuminati, as part of the tribunal that apprehended Doctor Strange. Once a mutant is already in the MCU, it is not long before other mutants come in as well, including Wolverine.

If not Hugh Jackman, who else would be donning the mutant with three claws from each hand? Well, tons of actors are being considered for the iconic X-Men member, that is for sure. Names that were usually dropped to fit the role are Taron Egerton, the choice of the director of X-Men: First Class, and Aaron Taylor-Johnson was one of his choices as well but we all know he already made an MCU appearance as Quicksilver.

Other actors that fans are looking at to replace Hugh Jackman as Wolverine are Scott Eastwood, Zac Efron, and Daniel Radcliffe. They could look the role, have the body for it, are great actors with their respective acting prowess, but all the new Wolverine needs is the sign of approval from the big bosses of Marvel. Either way, it could be a new actor, too.

Who do you think would fit as the new Wolverine if it’s not Hugh Jackman? Let us know more in the comments!

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness arrives in theaters on May 6, 2022.
