Who Arrested Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness Trailer?

Mind-blowing is definitely the first word you’ll ever say once you see the trailer of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness and the second film of the titular hero definitely plays a huge role in the path chosen by the MCU as they delve into the multiverse and how it works. This is not the first time, though. There was Loki and Spider-Man: No Way Home, What If..? as well.

Doctor Strange, however, broke the rules. In the words of Wong, he can’t get control of everything. Sometimes, things are better left the way they are and with Strange trying to fix it all, in the words of his own evil version, “things just got out of hand.” He didn’t go unpunished for his acts, either. In the same clip, it was shown that he was apprehended and he had to face a tribunal.

No, it is not the Time Variance Authority, the one we all saw in Loki. That one is much crowded and more archaic. This one looks more modernized, all silvery and grayish. We saw Doctor Strange get escorted by Ultron bots, thought we’d seen the last of them in Age of Ultron, but no, this time, they were repurposed into serving some kind of a tribunal.

The tribunal is expected to be Marvel’s Illuminati, a secret group that convenes to help the people with powers and in the comics, it was Stark who originally found the said tribunal. It consisted of heroes from various teams such as Black Bolt, Namor, Professor X, Reed Richards, and Tony Stark. Once, Doctor Strange even sat with these heroes when they sent Hulk away from Earth.

Coincidentally, the rumors surrounding Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness seem to fit the description of the Illuminati as well. Now that we all heard the voice of Patrick Stewart’s Professor X in the trailer, these rumors might be true at all. Tom Cruise is one, he is speculated to be a variant of Tony Stark, a more powerful version. Namor is speculated to arrive in Black Panther 2. The reboot of the Fantastic Four is also one.

Could they really be Marvel’s Illuminati? Find out when Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness drops in theaters on May 6, 2022.
