For the longest time, the Marvel Cinematic Universe has treated the "multiverse" as just a mere idea and nothing more but projects like Loki and Spider-Man: No Way Home finally acknowledged that other worlds outside Earth-616 actually exist, thus kickstarting the multiversal saga. However, we've only scratched the surface and the entire concept will be explored in the upcoming Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.

And with the keyword "multiverse" slapped in its title, it's already a no-brainer at this point to expect the emergence of several MCU variants that will appear in the film. The latest rumors even suggest that we'll also see familiar faces in Doctor Strange 2 that were previously not part of the MCU.

Speaking of, a new scoop from Moth Culture claims that Multiverse of Madness will see the jaw-dropping return of Hugh Jackman as Wolverine. Key details about his alleged involvement in the film weren't disclosed but it is said that the Australian actor and X-Men icon is Marvel Studios' biggest surprise for the film. Of course, just like any rumor, take this one with a huge grain of salt.

Jackman made headlines last year following his social media activity which seems to tease a partnership between him and Marvel Studios. The Logan star would eventually dismiss speculation but when you think about it, his denial doesn't really mean much and for all we know, he's probably just pulling an Andrew Garfield.

Marvel has always been about fan service and the idea of Jackman actually reprising his career-defining mutant role doesn't seem too farfetched. I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness hits cinemas on May 6, 2022.
