The third episode of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Season 3 is finally out and things are moving fast for the Swordsmith Village arc. Episode 3 just introduced Hantengu's clones and they could prove to be a game-changer.
In Demon Slayer Season 3 Episode 3, Tanjiro Kamado and Kotetsu found a sword inside the mechanical battle doll Yoriichi Type Zero and although they were thrilled with their discovery, they soon realize it is rusted over. That's when Hotaru Haganezuka emerges and declares that he will fix the sword for Tanjiro.
Haganezuka is able to fix the sword but it doesn't take long before Tanjiro has to use it. Muichiro Tokito visits Tanjiro while he is sleeping and asks where his swordsmith is. Tanjiro immediately volunteers to accompany him to find the swordsmith and Muichiro is hit with a sense of familiarity with the boy and his sister Nezuko.
Their discussion is interrupted by the arrival of Hantengu who creeps into the room. Muichiro and Tanjiro immediately spring into action but the demon dodges them and is only put down by Nezuko's kick. Muichiro manages to decapitate Hantengu but the demon's head and body transform into new demons.
The new demons are Karaku and Sekido, and they are soon joined by Hantengu's other clones Urogi and Aizetsu. Each new demon also has its own unique ability that makes them a distinct threat.
Interestingly, each new demon has its own distinct voice. The voice actors for Hantengu's clones were revealed soon after the premiere of Demon Slayer Season 3 Episode 3. The new voice actors are Yuichiro Umehara as Sekido, Kaito Ishikawa as Karaku, Shunsuke Takeuchi as Urogi, and Soma Saito as Aizetsu.
Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Season 3 Episode 3 is titled A Sword from Over 300 Years Ago ("Sanbyaku-nen Ijo Mae no Katana"). The fourth episode is titled Thank You Tokito ("Tokito-kun Arigato") and will premiere on Sunday, April 30, 2023.
